Job Description:
BW Converting seeking a high-performing Application Engineer who excels at problem solving, demonstrates strong initiative, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will assess customer technical requirements and work with Product Management, Sales, and Engineering to configure solutions using our products and technologies. This role supports the development of detailed technical documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to enable accurate, customer-facing quotations.
Essential Functions
Evaluate customer requirements and determine configurable solutions, providing technical options that ensure customer needs can be met.
Deliver accurate and timely feedback to Commercial Operations team members on detailed BOMs, proposals, contracts, technical cost sheets, machine capabilities, and equipment checkout/testing requirements.
Serve as a liaison between Commercial Operations and Engineering departments.
Create floor plan layouts, concept drawings, and configurable designs for proposed equipment solutions.
Contribute to improving methodologies, standards, and efficiencies within the Applications department.
Travel to customer sites, sister facilities, and trade shows as required.
Read, create, and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents.
Provide technical support and training materials for Operations, Sales, and other internal teams.
Initiate risk analysis activities during the proposal phase.
Assist with evaluation and reporting of customer-specific samples and materials during the sales cycle.
Release configurable designs to Operations for execution.
Collaborate with Product Line Managers to maintain quoting tools and sales enablement resources.

Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the candidate must be detail-oriented, curious, proactive, and committed to high-quality documentation and technical accuracy.
Bachelor's degree in engineering plus OEM capital equipment or packaging machinery.
Experience using CAD systems, including solid modeling tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related field. Or, an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
2-3 Years construction related work or internship experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Solid project scheduling and follow through skills. Experience utilizing Microsoft Project is a plus.
Must be able to read drawings, interpret codes, and be familiar with all phases of building design.
Experience with Bluebeam, Procore and/or BIM is a plus.
