THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Field Application Engineer to join the Centre of Excellence (CoE) group to support our largest hyperscale, mega data center, and enterprise customers. The role broadly involves:
* Close technical collaboration with customers and partners in support of framework agreements and RFP-driven requests. About the Role:
Altera is leading the way to transform how we design FPGAs. In this position, you will be joining the North American Factory Applications Team as an FPGA Design Applications Engineer specializing in Quartus Software tools and system solutions. You will help revolutionize our customer experience by using new technologies to showcase our software tools and support our customers.
A successful candidate is an FPGA designer who has hands-on experience with FPGA design software tools and knows how to design, simulate, and debug FPGA designs.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Reviewing product requirements and designing a best-in-class customer journey by identifying assets, use cases, user personas and touchpoints (web, git repository, forums etc.).
Developing technical assets such as user guides, application notes, example designs, demos and training that will enable users to successfully design with our products.
Reviewing specifications and requirements, performing product evaluations and providing feedback on ease of use.
Defining and developing example designs and unit tests and performing checkout to ensure the readiness of feature releases.
Responding to customer technical questions, debugging and reproducing customer issues, and driving issue resolution with the engineering organization and customers.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering (or related field) with a minimum of 3+ years of related applications engineering or system design experience OR a Master of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering (ore related field) with a minimum of 3+ of related applications engineering or system design experience
Experience with FPGA Design Software tools and common third-party simulators
Experience with debugging FPGAs
Experience with creating FPGA designs using RTL (Verilog, VHDL or SystemVerilog) combined with IP and system software
Experience working with FPGA development boards or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Power and Thermal Analysis tools
Familiarity with TCL and Python
