Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical interface between the imaging payload and spacecraft bus, ensuring compatibility and joint performance optimization across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data interfaces.
Lead and participate in system-level trades to evaluate design alternatives, performance vs. cost/risk trade-offs, and technology insertion opportunities.
Assess and troubleshoot emerging payload and bus designs down to the circuit level using your electrical engineering background.
Support radiation analysis and mitigation strategies for electronics in space environments, collaborating with design teams to guide EEE parts selection and architecture-level protections.
Perform or review signal and power integrity analyses, and ensure adherence to space-qualified electrical standards (MIL-STD, ECSS, NASA standards, etc.).
Model and evaluate payload-level power, data, and timing interactions and contribute to electrical interface control documentation (ICDs).
Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies, COTS/FoS (Commercial/Flyable off the Shelf) hardware, and new mission concepts with an eye toward system-level integration feasibility.
Contribute to design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and work across disciplines to ensure the payload systems meet performance, reliability, and environmental constraints.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active secret Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
8+ years of experience working with space-based optical remote sensing payloads, especially within LEO missions.
Proven experience in electrical systems engineering for space platforms, including familiarity with radiation effects on electronic systems and parts derating/qualification processes.
Demonstrated experience with spacecraft-payload interface development, electrical interface analysis, and supporting cross-functional teams across the space segment.
Ability to interpret and analyze schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts, and perform system-level implications analysis from hardware-level changes.
Demonstrated familiarity with current and emerging FPGA, processor, and memory technologies.
Previous experience working across payload, spacecraft, and ground teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.
Experience with modeling tools such as MATLAB, STK, SPICE, HFSS, or signal integrity/power analysis software.
Familiarity with imaging payloads (visible, multispectral, or hyperspectral), data processing requirements, and performance metrics (SNR, MTF, etc.).
Experience with fault management, redundancy architectures, and design for reliability in long-duration space missions.
Familiarity with space industry quality and standards frameworks (NASA GSFC, JPL, ECSS, MIL-STD-1547, IPC standards).

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
This position is part of a highly experienced and skilled team of great individuals that are responsible for the support and maintenance of a multi-site P25 digital radio communications system and all associated infrastructure as well as supporting and maintaining mobile data computers for police and fire.
The team supports the City of Aurora, 911 Dispatch Center, and other public safety entities radio needs.
This position is hands-on, with responsibilities that include installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining radio systems including, but not limited to, two-way portable and mobile radios, 911 dispatch consoles, in-building amplifiers, and fire apparatus radio intercom systems.
This position is expected to perform analysis, upgrades, modifications, maintenance, and repair work. A typical day may include repairing equipment in the radio shop, troubleshooting equipment in the 911 dispatch center, or traveling to a local fire station to troubleshoot equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Install, maintain, and repair radio units for Police, Fire, general City, and outside agencies; repair and maintain various public safety electronic devices such as Police and Fire Helmet communication systems, license plate reader hardware, medical vaults, and mobile computers using wireless cellular technology.
· Travel to customer locations to fulfill SLA Annual Radio alignment program; record and maintain information on tested and serviced equipment
· Assist installers with equipment installations and troubleshooting
· Contact vendors and complete work in compliance with vender specifications and standards
· Interface with other agencies staff to ensure the seamless interoperable communications of the wireless P25 Land Mobile Radio systems in the greater Denver area.
· The selected candidate must ensure that safety practices are being followed at all times, maintain and preserve company owned equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair at all times.
· The selected candidate may be required to train new employees in the correct system alignment and test procedures when required
· Troubleshoots microwave equipment and links.
· Performs preventive maintenance checks on radio system mobile and portable radios.
· Performs necessary system and/or equipment repairs where feasible or will make arrangements for the necessary repairs.
· Performs site equipment installation, test, removal, and disposal.
· Performs hardware, firmware, and software maintenance on radios and associated infrastructure.
· Responds to and evaluates communications problems.
· Provides maintenance support in the implementation of new radio technology
· Track, manage and resolve work tickets, utilize established ticketing system
· Performs data collection, entry, and reporting using computer applications programs.
· Ability to work in office and field environment and under pressure.
· Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Education:
· Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a Technology field such as Electronics, Communications, Information, or related Technology field (or any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a two-year course of study in electronics, communications, information, or related technology field)
Experience:
· Three plus years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance in at least one of the following: network management, server options, routing protocols, microwave, fiber-optic, and/or electronic communications systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Providing technical hardware and software support to Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), servers, and/or personal computers (PC) in a professional work environment.
· Possess P25 Digital Trunked Radio certifications from multiple manufacturers such as Motorola, Kenwood, Tait, Harris, and E.F. Johnson.
Knowledge:
· Aviat microwave training and experience.
· Operations and activities of a radio communication services department, FCC (Federal Communications Commission) principles and guidelines concerning telecommunications, and radio communications system installation and maintenance.
· Operational characteristics of a variety of communications devices and equipment, such as wireless communications, digital/analog microwave systems, trunked radio systems, conventional and computer-aided dispatch systems, mobile data terminals, and antenna/tower systems.
· Principles and practices of emergency dispatch operations and electrical wiring and mounting communications equipment.
· Specialized computer applications such as CPS (Customer Programming Software), Netmotion, Versaterm, Sierra Wireless AMM, Cradlepoint Netcloud, and Provisioning Manager and tuning to test and troubleshoot assigned communications equipment.

· Digital Communications System Analyzers such as Aero flex 3920B and LMR Master Land Mobile Radio Modulation Analyzer S412E.
· APCO-25 Digital Radio Communications Protocol, ASTRO25 2021.1 M3 with dynamic system resilience (DSR).
· Image and maintain mobile computers installed in Public Safety vehicles.
· Manage and deploy mobile devices using mobile device management platform such as Air Watch or Microsoft Intune.
· Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of communications technology
· Use a variety of electronic test equipment and diagnostic instruments to perform radio communications equipment repairs, calibration, and maintenance work.
· Follow and execute documented and approved policies, processes, and procedures.
· Show initiative and act independently to resolve tickets, manage multiple priorities, and follow through on projects/tasks to completion; work independently using all available resources to resolve tickets and ensure service delivery.
· Communicate progress, status, and issues, clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, with customers, management, and technical support.
· Handle difficult situations and customers.
· Operate in an ITSM, specifically ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) based, environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential Personnel:

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
