Job Description
Come join our Data Center Engineering Team and work on one of the most advanced 3D-NAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Solidigm possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products.
In this position you will join a fast-paced team developing new, cutting-edge firmware for Solidigm Solid State Drives (SSD). You will utilize and grow your experience in embedded architecture, external interfaces, and product constraints, along with the ability to develop architectures/features that meet these constraints while providing new value for the platform. You will use and gain experience in storage interface standards such as NVMe, PCIe, SATA, and SAS. The team utilizes Agile development methodologies, therefore, excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with team members, both locally and across the organization is required.
As a Firmware Engineer your regular responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop, review, document, and maintain product source code in C/C++
Analyze and develop firmware per internal and external (customer) specifications
Perform unit and system level testing including failure analysis and debug of product issues as part of development and validation phases
Develop low-level firmware, system architectures, operating systems, device architectures, in partnership with hardware and ASIC design teams
Cross multiple firmware disciplines to develop and grow across the entire SSD architecture
Work with project stakeholders turning product requirements into development and validation plans
Participate in and role model an Agile/Kanban development culture which emphasizes product quality, team accountability, and continuous improvement
Coordinate priorities and activities with other engineering stakeholders to accomplish committed milestones

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

7+ years of experience in the following areas:
Software or firmware development experience in an embedded systems environment with programming in C/C++
Embedded firmware development running in a real-time operating system (RTOS), with hardware and software interactions
Firmware development environments including compilers, debuggers, emulators, and tool-chains

Storage industry (SSDs or enterprise storage)

The Integrated Photonics Staff Engineer will play a major role in establishing the integrated photonics team at Infleqtion. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, some covered by other team members:
Collaborate with Quantum Systems teams on Integrated Photonics opportunities
Design photonic components (lasers, modulators, passive devices, etc.)
Design and layout Silicon Photonics PICs
Work with foundry partners for PIC fabrication
Collaborate with III-V Gain Chip suppliers for gain elements
Partner with packaging companies to integrate gain and package devices
Conduct lab testing of PIC based devices, including hands-on and automated testing
Characterize lasers, including DC measurements, frequency noise (FN) and relative intensity noise (RIN)
Characterize modulated laser systems, measuring high-speed waveforms, and developing measurement setups

Assess PIC-based approaches for addressing atoms in quantum systems

Position Summary
Maintenance and administration functions necessary for successful completion of projects. Role Responsibilities
Assist with and/or perform the following as delegated by the assigned Project Manager:
Manage contractual agreements with owners, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, field staff, and within RKMI's management system.
Ensure daily corporate documentation is completed and up to date, including time cards, daily reports, additional work authorizations, receiving documents, as-built drawings, etc.
Negotiate terms, conditions, and scope of work for contractual agreements issued to RKMI in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, and estimate bid proposal.
Prepare and distribute initial project budget.
Coordinate and attend RKMI in-house pre-construction meetings.
Ensure permits and/or licenses are obtained and current for project.
Coordinate timely completion and thorough buy-out procedures on materials and equipment, in conjunction with the superintendent and purchasing department, with emphasis on maintaining all buy-outs under the established budget.
Ensure superintendent's take-offs are complete, accurate and on time.
Buy-out, negotiate and issue all lower-tier subcontract(s), with emphasis on complete scopes in compliance with the contract documents and within the established budget.
Oversee and coordinate the project submittal approval process.
Responsible for proper/timely processing of shop drawings, product submittals, operation and maintenance manuals, and recording all as-built drawings.
Responsible for the administration of the signed subcontract requirements with respect to conformance with the agreement, contract documents, and change orders.
Assist in the development, preparation, and finalization of RKMI's mechanical construction CPM schedule with input from superintendent(s).
Coordinate ordering, processing, and delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and purchasing department.
Coordinate communications and correspondences from owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
Review reports, including those prepared by local police, for completeness and accuracy, and forward to vice president of finance.
Ensure project quality control procedures are followed during construction process, in accordance with the contract documents and RKMI's policies and procedures.
Ensure that change orders requests (COR's) are processed in accordance with proper procedures, and that the superintendent has information required for implementation.
Ensure change orders (CO's) are processed on time and are properly documented.
Coordinate and track take-off orders, procurement and release of change orders items with the purchasing department and superintendent(s).
Responsible for initiating, overseeing, and verifying billings.
Verify that all materials invoiced and work billed has been delivered to and/or completed at job site.
Review and monitor labor costs, hours, and projections with superintendent(s).
Provide monthly and quarterly information to project manager, vice president of operations and vice president of finance, including but not limited to: forecasted estimate on costs required for completion of project, outstanding extra work total costs, and amount that has been performed but un-billed, encountered busts in the bid, and pending claims.
Assist in legal claims as necessary.
Responsible for job closeout being performed in proper and efficient manner and keeping the project manager and vice president of operation informed of closeout status.
Monitor crafts compliance with company/project safety program requirements.
Assist safety manager with preparation, documentation, and distribution of accident reports.
Assist in resolution of conflicts with client, a/e liaison, etc.
Optimize the profitability of the company by demonstrating the ability of a decision maker with reliable and mature judgment.

Role Overview
At Emporia Energy, hardware products are the tip of the spear - attracting customers, fueling data analytics, and enabling demand response through integration with Emporia's energy management platform. We provide our customers with reliable, high value-add products at industry-leading pricing.
We are looking for a passionate Power Electronics Controls Engineer to help expand the Emporia Energy hardware ecosystem - initially by working on our upcoming Bidirectional EV Charger. Work will involve owning control loop design and verification for both AC/DC and DC/DC power converters and contributing to needed V2G, G2V, and V2H control designs. As a senior member of the Hardware Development team, the ideal candidate will be expected to work closely with and provide mentorship to peers and junior members of the team, as needed for this cross disciplinary project. Throughout, they will demonstrate the strong analysis, design, and test skills required to produce the reliable, low-cost hardware that our customers expect.
Responsibilities
Own the design and validation of the control loop for bidirectional AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion hardware, including units involving the interconnection of multiple converters acting together as a single product
Act as a technical expert for bidirectional 10 kW+ level AC/DC and DC/DC control systems at all stages of design and verification; support other power related projects as needed
Design controls code for high voltage and high power systems and validate its functionality and performance
Work with our established firmware team to transition that code into production
Develop prototype firmware to enable hardware bring up and testing
Support the transition from new product development into high volume manufacturing including assisting with the development of production line testing methods
Lead and/or participate in design reviews and trade studies as needed
Collaborate with firmware, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and other engineering teams
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years experience developing complex products as a power electronics controls engineer, electrical engineer, or related role
Strong understanding of power converter theory and design
Experience developing digital control systems for grid tied inverters, rectifiers, and DC/DC converters using microcontroller platforms
Working knowledge of V2G and G2V related regulations in North America as they relate to the design of grid interactive power converters
Working knowledge of renewable energy related concepts such as home energy storage systems, general power conversion/regulation/distribution, and power fault protection
Experience with modeling and simulation-aided analysis for control loop design in tools such as PLECS

What We Offer
💰 Compensation: The expected base salary range is $140,000-$180,000, plus stock options, however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range depending on numerous factors including, but not limited to work experience, skills and internal equity considerations.
