**We have an opening for a Senior Principal Satellite Systems Engineer-Spacecraft Operations to support our Space Development Agency (SDA)** **program out of our Grand Forks, ND site. You must be able to travel to Redondo Beach, CA, for training for a minimum of 2 months.**

**What you'll get to do:**
+ Responsible for the team's day to day tasks and progress.
+ Provide mission operations support to a constellation of satellites.
+ Monitor health and status of each spacecraft in the constellation and perform short and long-term telemetry trending.
+ Work with systems and software engineers to conduct anomaly review board investigations as necessary.
+ Make modifications to existing operations procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performance. Develop new procedures as required.
+ Support system maintenance activities such as procedure updates and software updates.
+ Conduct testing using simulators and work with a diverse group of engineers to debug on-orbit and ground issues.
+ Track space vehicle configuration, including both hardware and software.
+ Collaborate with mission planners to enable manual and automated mission planning during different phases of operations.
+ Support constellation-level operations, including shift work which will involve 12-hour and night shifts.
+ Prioritize tasks for yourself and your teammates and take the lead on resolving issues.
+ Coordinate operations with teams located in multiple sites.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant experience
+ Active Secret clearance required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
+ Space systems engineering experience/satellite operations experience
+ RF communications domain expertise
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to determine the root cause of spacecraft and ground system anomalies, and the ability to make difficult decisions in high-pressure environments
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of employees and management
+ Willingness and ability to support a 24/7 environment with shift work

Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. * Provide a manufacturing engineering presence on the production floor to assure interaction with team members from all shifts and appropriate manufacturing engineering support and feedback for the teams.

* 5+ years of experience modelling in SMT Masta, Romax or KISSsoft or comparable, preferred
* Proficient on gear manufacturing processes, and heat treatments
* Working knowledge of tribology, preferred
* Familiar with 3D CAD tools (preferably Siemens NX) and GD&T
* Ability to read, interpret and create detail drawings and blueprints

Duties/Responsibilities:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
Minimum 10 years Construction Project Management experience
PMP certification is preferred.
Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly USACE, is preferred.
Strong background in Project Management (PM), with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are required
Strong technical competencies to create presentation materials and deliver presentations via electronic methods.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role is responsible for supporting all manufacturing engineering activities within assigned manufacturing cell(s), including facilitating lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), maintaining cell layouts, creating Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), and supporting capital and facility upgrades. Provide manufacturing engineering support and services within assigned manufacturing cell(s).

Represent manufacturing engineering at daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings.
Design or specify equipment, tooling, or racking required to support manufacturing.
Review and implement ECNs within assigned cells or option groups.
Assign default locators to all parts within assigned manufacturing cells.
Create SWIs and hot sheets and train personnel on these standards.
Update and maintain plant and cell layouts, including inventory, housekeeping, emergency, and security maps.
Specify and facilitate capital and equipment upgrades, installations, or modifications.
Implement and facilitate lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction, etc.).
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Participate in SWAT team meetings to resolve cross-functional issues.
Conduct process observations to validate time standards and resource planning.
Validate routings and submit routing change requests to process planning.
Conduct contract reviews to ensure production readiness.
Participate in Non-Conforming Parts (NCP) meetings and assist with disposition of materials.
Initiate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) as appropriate.
Support process planning and production engineering activities.
Participate in internal and supplier audits, including Supplier Application Approvals as required.
