Responsible for performing routine engineering work and for occasionally handling minor engineering projects; also assists in various phases of major projects. Additionally, this role will require sourcing mechanical components, submitting RFQs to vendors, and general adherence to and improvement of engineering processes within the organization. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong desire to learn new skills and be comfortable working on larger projects spanning weeks or months as well as fast turnaround projects requiring a couple of hours or days.
Essential Duties
Assists the manufacturing department in the development of processes and molds necessary to produce the product.
Assists in the development of engineering plans and designs in a particular field for a specific area.
Assists in the investigation and analysis of new materials, equipment invoices, and engineering practices.
Prepares or assists in preparing engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and minor designs.
Prepares layouts, assembly, and detail drawings for new or improved products, special machinery design, test equipment, tools, fixtures, and gauge design.
Prepares initial drawings on designated test apparatus and monitors results.
Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions. Also prepares and evaluates tolerance stack-ups.
Provides information when required for cost estimating, such as blank layouts and processing sketches.
Makes orthographic or isometric illustrations required for sales aids.
Performs or assists with equipment and material test studies.
Performs other related duties as required.
Preferred Experience
BS. or M.S. in Mechanical engineering.
5+ years in engineering with experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Experience using a Product Data Management system such as Autodesk Vault or Solidworks PDM.
Be able to interpret machine designs generated using 2-D CAD methods.
Motivation to contribute to the improvement of engineering procedures.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Excellent technical skills, strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

* Support cradle to grave efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance of test hardware and software

* High focus on DFM/DFS standards (Design for Manufacturability / Design for Serviceability)
* Troubleshoot software and hardware as part of an integration team

This is a Direct Hire role.
Job purpose:
This position will be responsible for a variety of electrical maintenance, design, project management, and engineering functions plant-wide for electrical equipment including new equipment installation as well as existing substation and plant power distribution.
Duties and responsibilities:
Lead employees in following all safety regulations. Ensure that all company safety practices and procedures are adhered to and all employees are adequately trained to perform their various job assignments in a safe and efficient manner.
Develop and enforce safety procedures and safe work practices to ensure the safety of employees and contractors in the performance of assigned work.
Ensure that the area meets or exceeds all safety objectives, including JSA/SOPs, safety meetings, required monthly inspections, housekeeping and other safety deliverables to continually drive safety improvements
Supervise and lead by example in following the company's goals and values, enforcing policies and procedures, assist with recruiting, training, performance evaluations, employee skill development, discipline, retention and succession planning.
Supervise and assist managing electrical distribution/Utility systems. Distribution systems include applicable transformers, breakers, air switches, load centers, reactors, rectifiers, pole mounted equipment, underground cabling, etc.
Supervise and manage high voltage incoming to the plant. Work with electrical power supplier on incoming transmission lines, transformers, distribution systems, etc.
Perform system studies to ensure proper coordination of system relays, monitor load flows and modify system components to avoid overloads. Explore and implement better technology, equipment and methods to reduce outages, equipment failures, operating costs and unsafe conditions.
Plan, coordinate and perform all high/medium voltage distribution switching, transferring loads, paralleling services, etc., as required
Create, maintain, and monitor high/medium voltage preventive maintenance program including oil sampling of large Transformers.
Develop and manage various capital projects from conception to completion.
Provide 24/7 maintenance response coverage for any Power Issues related to the operation of the Facility.
Qualifications: Competencies, Education and Experience:
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years working with the electrical maintenance or design and engineering in industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience working with multiple contractors on medium to large sized projects

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* General Responsibilities
* Research conceptual designs, preliminary budgets and schedules for assigned projects. Development along with assistance from the project sponsors the preparation of the Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs). CPAs to include project description, justification, cost estimates, budget, schedule, analysis of alternatives and other required information.
* Research for recommendation of consultants and firms as appropriate.
* Draft "Request for Proposal" documents for design services, construction services and major equipment items as appropriate.
* Manage and coordinate (with site customers, employees and other personnel) the efforts of construction management, general or trade sub-contractors to ensure the successful (i.e. safe, timely, high quality, cost effective, legal) implementation of assigned projects.
* Research and propose all design, construction, contractual and financial issues on assigned projects.
* Ensure frequent communication and conducts regularly scheduled meetings between Project Team and other stakeholders.
* Ensure that all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements are met on assigned projects.
* Coordinates all activities with building departments/inspectors.
* Completes assigned projects by starting-up and checking-out all new equipment and systems, inspecting construction, developing and ensuring complete resolution of "punch list" items.
* Develops Capital and Expense budget requests for future projects during annual budget cycle.
* Provides data for Zoetis Global Engineering Services to ensure project compliance with applicable GMS standards and comply with Zoetis Quality Standards.
* Maintain technical skills in the latest techniques for project management and engineering technology as applied to facilities and equipment design, construction and plant operation.
* Utilizes CPMP principles for project. Project definition, project concept, preliminary and detailed design, construction and commissioning/verification and close out
* Develops and maintains capital plan for site.
* Communicates regularly with project owners, customers and stakeholders.
* Procurement
* Generate request for proposals for purchased equipment and services as necessary
* Generate quotes for equipment and services.
* Procure, track and close out project equipment and services purchases.
* Documentation
* Provide or arrange for development of complete design documentation for assigned projects.
* Prepares documentation necessary for project approvals.
* Generates change control documentation as required by project commissioning needs.
* Provides qualification documentation for assigned project as applicable.
* Maintenance
* Arranges for training of involved maintenance and operating personnel and obtaining and properly distributing all appropriate testing, certification, validation, "as built", spare parts, operating or maintenance manual documentation and drawings.
* Works closely with Reliability Engineer that develops Life Cycle Cost.
* Modeling and Statistical Analysis for equipment design and selection.
* Receive input of "Design for Reliability" with respect to equipment specifications that create project approaches which minimize life cycle costs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelors or master's level degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred)
* Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: PMP Certification or PE License preferred.
* Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
