The candidate will be responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems for industrial food processing facilities. The primary applications include steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, domestic water, HVAC/Refrigeration, natural gas, plumbing and other process-related systems. Required skills include HVAC heat load calculations (knowledge of HVAC load calculation software) and diversities, industrial ventilation design, equipment specification, selections and alternatives, controls and sequencing of operations, pressurization and hygienic zoning, knowledge of current industry refrigerant regulations, etc. It is assumed the candidate can design such systems with limited direction, can mentor others, and be capable of supervising the work of other engineers and designers while serving as the lead engineer on any given project. The role at times may require independent work or the need to manage team members assigned to their projects, while ensuring project requirements, schedule, and overall document quality are met. Inter-discipline coordination, BIM clash detection, shop drawing review, and site inspections will be required. Supervising subcontractors and self-perform work on our marine & infrastructure projects. **District Overview** TIC Marine and Heavy Civil self-performs marine projects with company-owned equipment for both the public and private sector, historically focusing on the southeast coast. Our construction operations are supported by our in-house equipment department, fabrication facility and machine shop to streamline projects for our owners. Using our own equipment and fabrication facility allow us to maintain control over critical scopes, ensuring that the project stays on schedule. Past heavy-civil experiences include cast in place concrete, steel, box beam, flat slab, railroad trestle and arch bridges, bridge widening, bascule and swing bridges, box culverts, storm drainage, erosion control, dike and levee construction, concrete paving, tunnels and sound barriers. Prepare and analyze equipment and contract specifications, bid packages and make recommendations. Assist other Project Engineers in own field of experience and engineering. Supervise contractors' field work. Advise maintenance supervision on field work of assigned projects. Coordinate with purchasing, traffic and receiving for delivery of new equipment and materials. Successful completion of all phases of assigned projects within authorized costs. Investigate various types of equipment problems involving selection of material, improvement of equipment, and repair versus replacement analyses. Inspect plant facilities, such as boilers, tanks, piping, and process equipment during shutdowns. Inspect equipment deterioration and failures and recommend actions required to reduce or eliminate failures and ensure safe condition of potentially hazardous equipment. Ensure that all phases of project work are properly documented, i.e., project costs, equipment manuals and drawings, material certifications, etc. Procure spare parts and coordinate training for mechanics and operators as needed for new equipment and systems. Ensure projects incorporate ergonomic consideration and are designed for safe operation. Additionally, responsible for contractor safety on project work.
