We are seeking a highly motivated Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our strategic partnership with a global consumer electronics leader. This role will serve as the dedicated technical liaison between the client's engineering teams and our internal product development organization, ensuring the successful integration of our connector and interconnect solutions into next-generation products.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Act as the primary technical interface for the customer, building and maintaining strong relationships with their engineering and program teams.
Provide connector selection, design-in, and application engineering support tailored to customer's requirements.
Lead design-win activities by ensuring compliance with customer's electrical, mechanical, thermal, and reliability standards.
Collaborate with customer and internal engineering teams on prototype builds, qualification, and mass production readiness.
Address technical challenges related to signal integrity, EMI/EMC, durability, and manufacturability.
Deliver technical presentations, documentation, and performance reports in line with customer's review processes.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks in design and production phases.
Communicate customer insights, requirements, and roadmaps to internal product management and R&D teams.
Support on-site and virtual design reviews, audits, and issue resolution activities.
Travel as required to customer offices, contract manufacturers, and global company sites.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with CAD tools, simulation environments, and basic electrical/mechanical testing.
Work Style:This position will be located in Cupertino office, and we do have a hybrid policy for local hires of 30 business days fully in office first, and then 4 days in office and 1 day working from home.

Western Digital is seeking a New College Graduate to join the Field Applications Engineering team in San Jose, CA. The candidate will be responsible for working with account teams supporting our key customers. Working together with an experienced group of storage professionals, you will work with the account team to manage qualification and sustaining activities and projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Taking care of customer requests and answer product-related questions
* Updating trackers for qualification and sustaining issues
* Collaborate with customer on developing qualification plans for new products
* Manage and track qualification metrics and deliverables
* Lead periodical customer meeting to track customer qualification progress, issue and initiatives
* Hands-on 1st level failure analysis to debug customer issue
* Work hand-in-hand with Engineering and other cross-functional organizations to resolve issues and provide closure response to customer
* Assist with communicating customer requests for compliance with internal teams and coordinate customer deliverables such as feature request, required documents, etc.
* Represent and advocate customer needs and priorities to internal teams
The ideal candidate should have a strong engineering background, along with a desire to work externally with some of Western Digital's largest customers. The candidate's skillset should include a data analytics background, good project management skills, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related engineering field with a graduation date before July 2026. The expected start date for this position is in July or August 2026.
