Position Summary
The BIM/Field Engineer bridges modeling and field execution. You'll translate coordinated models and shop drawings into accurate layout and installation in the field, resolve clashes/RFIs with project teams, and keep as-builts and documentation current so work stays safe, on schedule, and to spec.
Key Responsibilities
Model & Document Control: Update and manage coordinated models (Revit/Navisworks), shop drawings, submittals, and as-builts; maintain version control in BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Field Layout: Generate points and run total station/robotic layout (Trimble/Leica) for sleeves, embeds, hangers, racks, and equipment; verify elevations, slopes, and tolerances.
Clash Coordination: Lead/participate in coordination meetings; track issues, create RFIs, and drive timely resolutions with GC, design team, and trades.
Installation Support: Produce spool sheets, installation details, and pull sheets; ensure material readiness, accurate takeoffs, and field-ready information.
QA/QC & Commissioning Support: Perform in-field checks against plans/specs; assist with testing, start-up, and turnover packages; keep redlines current.
VDC-to-Field Workflow: Convert model data into practical work packages and look-ahead plans; align with superintendent/foreman on daily priorities.
Data Capture: Perform laser scans/point clouds (where applicable); reconcile scans to model for clash avoidance and progress verification.
Reporting & Controls: Track quantities, earned vs. spent hours (basic productivity metrics), and update weekly progress photos/logs.
Safety & Compliance: Follow site safety protocols (JHAs, PPE) and enforce model/field changes through approved processes.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: BS in Construction Management, Engineering (ME/EE/CE), Architecture, or equivalent and 2-5 years in BIM/VDC or field engineering (MEP or GC). Strong craft/field exposure may substitute for degree.
Software: Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks; working knowledge of BIM 360/ACC, Bluebeam, Procore/PlanGrid, AutoCAD; point layout tools (Trimble/Leica) preferred.
Technical Skills: Read/interpret plans, sections, details, and specs; generate layout points; understand tolerances, slopes, and MEP system basics (supports, sleeves, penetrations).
Coordination: RFI writing, issue tracking, and cross-trade communication; comfortable presenting in coordination meetings.
Field Aptitude: Comfortable on active jobsites, verifying dimensions, and supporting crews; able to lift/handle equipment and work at heights as needed.
Certifications (Nice-to-Have): OSHA 10/30, FAA Part 107 (drone), Laser scanning experience, PE/EIT or CMIT a plus.

As a Thermal Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee, maintain, and operate multi megawatt liquid cooled production systems, and support production difficulties. The ideal candidate has experience with thermal measurement and is passionate about technology and engineering. Other duties include designing and managing facility scale HVAC systems in a production environment and collecting data from IoT sensor networks such as Temperature, Humidity, and Power.
You will
Create thermal simulation models from CAD to simulate HVAC systems for rack level, room level, and clean room performance.
Program complex fan and pump control systems using large fields of sensor inputs, setting individual thermal limits, and setting fan and pump speed hysteresis controls for smooth steady state operation.
Design, improve, and manage manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and product quality in high density burn in rooms
Optimize liquid cooled production lines, troubleshooting equipment failures, implementing quality control standards, and designing new manufacturing systems and workstations.
Control costs for liquid production facilities.
Interpret sensor log data and analyze presenting into human readable formats but also according to various customer's specifications using engineering principles.
Operate and configure building management systems as pertains to thermal management systems
Present test reports to customers and accept customer feedback
Perform temperature measurements using thermocouples and IoT sensors.
Collect data logs from test tools in Linux or Windows
Observe and report unexpected results or possible areas of opportunity
Regularly inspect measurement tools and repair or replace as required
You have
Bachelor's degree in Thermal Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with strong emphasis on thermal engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with CDUs of all types including Liquid to Liquid, Liquid to Air, and Liquid to Refrigerant.
Experience designing facility cooling plumbing systems (either chilled water or glycol based)
Must have actually built, tested and refined project designs.
Strong working knowledge of CFD and CAD software.
Experience with thermocouples, IR cameras, airflow sensors, and power measurement.
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Experience building personal computers or servers.
Experience with environmental chambers.
Fluency in Linux command line operation

Your Role on Our Team

Position Overview
This position is accountable for testing, inspecting, and reporting of various materials used on construction projects for state highway improvements within the district, as well as providing engineering assistance to the Materials Section.

As a Electrical Engineer, on the Power Systems Studies group you will work directly with some of the world's largest technology companies and other mission-critical clients. You will serve as an electrical engineer on projects, design calculations, write technical reports, and prepare documents. Experience in performing short circuit analysis and producing arc flash studies is required. You will also coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, and clients. You may travel to job sites for observation and attend client meetings.

This role is highly collaborative, strategic, and technical, influencing platform roadmaps and long-term technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead the end-to-end systems engineering for embedded autonomous vehicle (AV) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) platforms.
+ Define, document, and manage system-level requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with product and safety goals.
+ Develop and maintain system architecture, balancing trade-offs in compute resources (CPU, GPU, NPU), memory (RAM), and communication bandwidth (Ethernet).
+ Perform system resource allocation, profiling, and optimization to meet performance, power, latency, and reliability targets.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with software architecture, firmware, hardware, validation, and vehicle integration teams to ensure cohesive system design and implementation.
+ Drive technical roadmap planning and contribute to strategic decisions on future platform capabilities and scalability.

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Master's or PhD preferred.
+ Minimum 8+ years of systems engineering experience, ideally within embedded systems, automotive, robotics, or related industries.
+ Proven track record of leading system architecture design and resource allocation for complex embedded platforms.
+ Deep understanding of AV/ADAS domain including embedded computing platforms, sensor integration, and real-time constraints.
+ Strong expertise in system performance analysis and optimization, including CPU/GPU/NPU architectures, memory hierarchies, and network bandwidth management.
+ Experience with platform systems engineering: device power management, I/O, internal & external communication
+ Experience with edge compute SoC and MCU architectures.
+ Hands-on experience with system modeling, simulation tools, and requirements management frameworks.
+ Experience working with Ethernet-based automotive networks (e.g., Automotive Ethernet, TSN).

Preferred Qualifications

* Build a good working relationship with co-workers and build plant equipment and process understanding
* Support safety initiatives and participate in safety program
* Perform investigation with plant personnel and learn the process related to each effort then provide technical data and specs to support the improvement
* Assist in cost estimations; however, PM or manager is responsible for choice of costing method. T&M, fixed cost, T&M not to exceed or other methods are typical
* Review/communicate as a team to plant employees what problem we are aware of and what is proposed for a solution. This will occur as part of a team of maintenance and operation persons responsible for the improvement
* Communicate any details developed through emails, whiteboards, meetings, etc. Improvement Execution
* Assist in writing requisitions if no work order is needed and the technical drawings or specs need to be attached to the PO
* Assist in managing timeline of implementation and commissioning on efforts which have this need
* Utilize plant labor for assistance when appropriate, and communicate with manager of cost center
* Actively participate in team meetings and discussions about progress. Completion Responsibilities
* Package technical data to the document control role for filing
* Submit spare parts needs to Storeroom and Equipment Master
* Review LOTO updates, hazard assessments, MOCs and JSPs as needed upon completion
* Become a resource for after-hour calls on related issues or questions
* Assist in setting up or delivering training for efforts which it is required
Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification from four-year college or university is required (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or applicable work experience)
* 0-2 years of Maintenance or Project engineering/management experience is required
* Experience with manufacturing projects is preferred
