Perform structural and thermal analyses as required to support component and system design optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead the system architectural development of next generation highly technical medical products, including electrical, optical, mechanical, industrial design, and software development.
Create system level documentation to organize architectures, create strategies, and mitigate risk.
Direct support of the Verification and Validation team
Owner of Verification and Validation activities per project schedules
Develop system level requirements and verification/validation tests to cover all aspects of system performance.
Work with project management to create schedule and cost estimates for project execution.

Own and maintain the system Risk Management File (RMF) via cross functional risk analysis, including essential performance
Conduct technical proof of concepts of emerging medical technologies, to develop and refine the next generation of products.
Work closely with product management to understand/translate voice of customer. Participate in developing the voice of customer, including attending conferences, operating rooms and labs, and analysis of competitors product offerings and system configurations
Coordinate technical design reviews with all levels of the organization.

SUMMARY
Lead the development of new mechanical designs, drive product improvements, and maintain existing products for our 3D visualization and guidance systems for microsurgery, working closely with electrical, optical, software and system engineers as well as product managers. The Staff Hardware Engineer will interface with internal and external teams to deliver complex designs such as high-magnification optical cameras, robotic assisted positioning systems, and active/passive thermal management systems.
In addition to design and development, the Staff Hardware Engineer will work with a multidisciplinary marketing and engineering team to turn marketing requirements into actionable engineering requirements. They will interface with internal teams, e.g. Software, Quality, Procurement, Production, and external teams, e.g. suppliers, outsourced Industrial Designers. Toyon is seeking individuals with experience in C++ and Python programming languages to support space systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. Ideal candidates will have experience developing in and working collaboratively on large C++ codebases including data-oriented design architectures, event driven simulations, and Monte Carlo simulations. Ideal candidates will also have experience in mathematics and physics including systems-level analyses in missile defense, radar system simulation and modeling, statistics, numerical integration algorithms, and modeling of aerospace systems. Individuals will develop and make use of existing analytical tools to support analyses for a wide customer base. Typical projects require formulation of the analysis problem, model development, analysis execution, and presentation of the results to the customer.

The annual pay range for the Space Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer position is $115,000 to $200,000.
