The Facilities Engineer plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. You will report into the Manager, Rockwork Engineering.
This is a Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do
* Manage the design and engineering of complex rockwork structures
* Manage technical coordination of rockwork design documents, models, specifications, and basis of design with AR, ST, MEP, Civil, Landscape, Show, Ride, Creative disciplines, and Rockwork Contractor, in consideration of programmatic requirements (Operational Stakeholders).
* Lead the technical coordination of rockwork design and construction including facilitating meetings and maintaining an IRL (issues resolution log) or similar document.
* Organize and develop project design criteria, engineering work plans, rockwork schedules, meetings, and work plans for projects of varying complexity.
* Facilitate quality assurance and control, both of design documentation as well as field construction.
* Direct project team members on coordination and integration activities related to the technical scope of work; this also includes any 3rd party architecture and engineering consultants.
* Participate in regularly scheduled project meetings with project team, consultants and contractors.
* Provide project teams with rockwork design and construction details, rockwork lessons learned, and rockwork standards information to inform rockwork specifications.
* Monitor work progress and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination and production requirements are met
* Answer construction bid period questions and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.
* Provide technical direction to in-house engineers and designers, and to outside consultants in the production of construction contract documents.
* May lead a small team of rockwork engineers and designers in the production of construction documents for multiple attractions of medium complexity through all phases of design
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Graduate of an accredited engineering school with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
* Professional Engineer license in Civil Engineering
* Working knowledge of structural engineering including current technologies and codes, with concentration in the areas of steel and concrete structures.
* Working knowledge of the structural engineering discipline, including industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, current technology and the preparation and use of contract documents in all phases of design and construction
* Knowledge of the use analytical software for structural engineering design
* 6 or more years of work experience in structural and/or rockwork engineering
* Construction phase experience including the submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections
Preferred Qualifications
* Working knowledge of structural design programs such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA
* Proven experience with 3D modeling software: Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, BIM360
* Civil Engineering license in California / Florida is desirable
* 2 or more years managing a small team of structural or rockwork engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction
Education
* Graduate of an accredited school of engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* An advanced degree in the structural engineering field is preferred

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $115,500 to $154,800 per year. Under general direction, responsible for engineering activities associated with Electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineering for the Shady Hills Energy Center (SHEC) in Spring Hill, FL. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required. Advanced degree in engineering preferred. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in large, modern power plants (or applicable equivalent training and education) dealing with the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation and control systems. Essential Functions
Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs.
