Provides technical expertise and consultation to identify/resolve plant equipment and system problems. Assists with developing procedures, improving design recommendations and new equipment purchase recommendations. Prepares and reviews design changes and design calculations in accordance with governing standards and procedures Prepares or leads others in the development of technical specifications, pricing documents, bidder's lists, bid evaluation criteria and project cost estimates for process systems, equipment or maintenance projects. Works with technical staff and/or Engineering Supervisor to conduct analysis of complex plant operation or maintenance problems which could lead to design changes, alternate equipment selection, different operating practices or a combination there of. Makes recommendations based on the analysis results. Directly interface with other workgroups (i.e., Operations, Maintenance, etc.) and Station Leadership regarding plant issues and improvement initiatives. Provides support for outages, emergent issues and generation challenges which may require shift work/off hours. Demonstrates ownership of assigned systems/components and advocates for system performance improvement opportunities. Conducts analysis of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment failures to determine the source and preventative action. Develops and implements trending and monitoring plans for assigned systems/components to ensure safe reliable equipment performance. Assists the DCS Administrators in troubleshooting and makes recommendations as to changes to the DCS systems. Coordinates activities of outside consultants as assigned. Takes a proactive approach regarding personal safety, safety of others and comply with all OSHA and SECI safety rules. Must complete all necessary online or classroom safety courses as directed. Must participate in safety briefings and meetings. Takes a proactive approach regarding environmental rules and regulations governing the operation of the plant. Must complete all necessary online or classroom environmental courses as directed. Required to immediately report any, and all, environmental reportable incidents. NERC Compliance: Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form. You should also be familiar with Seminole's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole's compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM. Physical Requirements Must be able to work and access all locations of the plant and grounds. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and organizing contract documents, verifying subcontractor submittals, coordinating with local authorities, and maintaining a neat and orderly field office. You will play a vital role in supporting projects through purchase order management, subcontract tracking, and project close-out document preparation. Responsibilities * Review, organize, and maintain contract documents and shop drawings. * Verify subcontractor submittals to ensure they meet project specifications. * Build relationships with local authorities and manage subcontractor and vendor access. * Maintain a neat and orderly field office and job files. * Assist with purchase orders, subcontract tracking, project close-out documents, and punch list completion. * Prepare meeting minutes, write RFIs, and resolve issues via telephone. * Address project issues creatively and involve upper management when necessary. * Promote company values and assist subcontractors and suppliers. * Utilize mobile technology for collaboration and job duties. * Track permits, sub-permits, and project issues to ensure schedule adherence. Essential Skills * Expertise in reading plans, working with concrete and masonry systems, structural modifications, demolition, and carpentry. * Ability to effectively communicate with and lead subcontractors in their tasks. * Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, Life Safety protocols, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen setups. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project). * Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Experience in theme parks is a plus. * Understanding or willingness to learn construction techniques and practices.
