Systems Planning Corporation (SPC), a subsidiary company of GAI Consultants, Inc., is seeking an Environmental Specialist with experience in Field Compliance Monitoring to be based out of Canton, OH or Bridgeport/Charleston, WV offices, within our Energy Business Unit. This position is fully remote but will require travel to various project sites. Applicants should enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. This position will afford an excellent opportunity for the individual to expand their experience and knowledge base in federal and state environmental regulations and methodologies in primarily in Ohio, as well as the possibility of assisting with projects in West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
The successful candidate will serve as a field lead to perform, with minimal supervision, various assignments including, but not limited to those listed below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing field monitoring of erosion and sediment (E&S) controls on various types of construction Projects (linear and site-based) while working independently.
Review and understand specifications, permits, and permit conditions as well as E&S control and stormwater plans associated with both site and linear construction Projects.
Prepare and review periodic monitoring reports based upon field observations. Reports may be submitted via paper report or electronically as required.
Assist with the preparation of environmental reports, permit applications, and closeout requests such as wetland and stream delineation reports, erosion and sediment control plans, and sound studies.
Agree and adhere to the Health and Safety requirements of GAI Consultants and GAI's clients.
Maintain QA/QC standards and adhere to the Quality Management System procedures of GAI Consultants and the quality procedures of GAI's clients.
Qualifications
Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technical writing ability.
Ability to utilize electronic location devices such as a GPS or a GPS enabled device to collect data tied to a Project location.
Candidate must be proficient in using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and MS Office applications and be familiar with report, database, and form completion through both
MS Word applications (e.g., Access, SQL) and online programs.
A valid driver's license along with ability pass required screening to drive a GAI vehicle.
Must be flexible. Travel will be expected as part of this position.
Ability to drive distances of potentially 4-6+ hours round trip and with occasional overnight stays out of town being required.
Preferred: (Not required, but candidates that demonstrate these qualifications will be given preference)
Minimum of an Associates (A.S.) degree from an accredited college with an engineering/environmental/science focus.
Two to four years of demonstrated experience in field monitoring. Consideration will be given to candidates that can specifically show E&S control monitoring or similar experience.
Experience performing Environmental Due Diligence (Phase I ESAs) site assessments.
Knowledge of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulations and permitting and familiarity with environmental agency E&S control guidelines and best management practice (BMP) designs, construction, and maintenance. Consideration will be given to candidates that can demonstrate experience and
comprehension of E&S control BMP concepts, designs, and maintenance requirements.
Past experience working with an environmental review agency (e.g. state or local conservation district) either for the agency or with the agency as a consultant or
owner.
Experience in SWPPP, NPDES Permit Application and/or Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Plan Development.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or GIS (ArcGIS).
Experience in environmental compliance such as air compliance and/or spill response planning a plus.
Knowledge of Section 401/404 permitting, stream and wetland surveys, delineation techniques, and permitting.
Travel

Trileaf is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Scientist to conduct environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) and Phase II ESAs and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports. This position will be remote & based in the Greater Lansing Area.
Key Responsibilities:
Phase I ESA responsibilities include conducting site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties. The site visit is comprised of taking detailed field notes, photographs, and conducting interviews. Subsequent to field work, office activities consist of performing regulatory agency file reviews, reviewing historic data (including but not limited to topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs), reviewing title/lien search reports, and environmental databases, followed by the interpretation of the compiled information and the drafting of a standardized report in accordance with ASTM E-1527-13 (AAI). Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients within established timelines.
NEPA responsibilities include conducting site visits of proposed wireless communications facilities. Prior to conducting the site visit, a preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) etc., as well as correspondence with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319. Subsequent to these activities, an individual must be able to interpret the complied information and prepare a template NEPA report.

An EnvironmentalScientist, Remediation participates in an emergency response and environmental remediation team to proficiently conduct environmental sampling and data collection. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical expert on matters relating to air pollution control, water and waste infrastructure, associated regulatory compliance programs, and emissions.

Responsible for the performance of a variety of technical and environmental activities, directly and by supervision, required in support of plant environmental programs/compliance, customer support, and NAES objectives. Serve as NAES Environmental Support Services' (ESS) primary contact for multiple facilities/customers.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
NOTE: The environmental scope of services provided to specific projects will be determined by contractual requirements and, as appropriate, by guidance from the Director, ESS. Required activities may include:
Provide air permitting support including permit renewals, permit modifications regulatory impact assessment, with knowledge in programs including New Source Review, Title V, New Source Performance Standards and Maximum Available Control Technologies regulatory requirements.
Provide direct support, guidance and oversight to NAES facilities for environmental program development, coordination and implementation.
Provide support for existing O&M contracts/facilities as well as transitions/pre-commercial support for new facilities.
Support provision of contracted services to customers and initiatives to further NAES growth.
Support and, as assigned, lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance management systems, “tools”, and processes both at individual facilities and “groups” of facilities.
Track, interpret, summarize and communicate applicable environmental regulations/requirements.
Support efforts to ensure that required environmental deliverables are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
Work with appropriate organizations and personnel to develop and implement necessary environmental permits, plans and procedures.

Reporting to Site Manager, you will be responsible for implementation and maintenance of site environmental, health, safety management system, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Be the Environmental point of contact for project and site team, providing day-to-day Environmental management and logistical support for the construction and commissioning project.
+ Establish the project site's overall Environmental Plan(s) to meet GE Vernova standards, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and other requirements, including but not limited to the Occupational Safety & Health plan, Environmental Protection Plan, Emergency Response Plan, etc.
+ Ensure effective implementation of Environmental management system including Policy, Plan, training, effective risk assessment, inspection, auditing, event management and analysis, in line with GE standards and procedures, including the effectiveness of safety related processes owned by others.
+ Intervene whenever site activities do not meet the established Environmental management requirements of the risk assessment / method statement.
+ Ensure applicable legal requirements have been properly identified and are complied with.
+ Provide timely information to the site management in relation to any trends that become evident through analysis, and potential legal exposure and Environmental concerns including the effective Management of Change.
+ Monitor the effectiveness of the site related rules defined in the Site Environmental management plan and revise as necessary to keep up to date, in consultation with the site manager.
+ Communicate on the GE Framework and ensure the site manager monitors and maintains site compliance.
+ Participate in the continuous improvement processes, by providing EHS-related feedback to the site team.
+ Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices. Utilize understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Engineering Degree or equivalent education in Environmental Engineering, or other faculty (for instance Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Construction)
+ Occupational Waste Disposal Class B (乙級廢棄物處理技術員) or above qualification by local Taiwan authority.
+ Literate in Microsoft Office;
+ Work bases at Taoyuan;
+ Ability to work on Overtime as and when required.

SUMMARYThis position supports the expedition as the expert and specialist in natural history for particular regions around the world. Additionally, the naturalist will work with the rest of the field staff in the delivery of the itinerary on a daily basis. The naturalist is responsible for creating and presenting engaging presentations, recaps, and in-the-field interpretation.
