Your Opportunity The role of the Geologist is to perform tasks and assignments associated with geotechnical and geological assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations; sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater; data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable preparation. Your Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will: - Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, including installation of groundwater monitoring wells and other downhole instrumentation. - Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams. - Perform site inspection of earthwork during construction. - Conduct field inspections and assessments of geohazards, such as landslides, rockfall, and abandoned mining features. - Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned. - Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data. - Draft technical reports. - Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures. Your Capabilities and Credentials The ideal candidate will have: - The ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff. - Strong technical writing skills. - Be an advocate for health, safety, and clients. - A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - A valid driver's license and good driving record. - The ability and willingness to travel regionally, but mostly in Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia up to 50 percent of time. - Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening. - Working knowledge of field sampling techniques.
