As a Staff Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for leading mechanical design and development projects for Shield AI's autonomous UAV products. Required qualifications:B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. 8-12 years of relevant experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical product development. This leader must have a strong and diverse background in product design that includes mechanisms, electronics packaging, materials selection, and modular design techniques.Specifically, this will include familiarity with machining, sheet metal, weldments, injection molding, with a focus in rapid prototyping.The general responsibilities include leading a design team of engineers and designers with efforts in project planning and guidance, resource allocation, requirements generation, design reviews, ongoing CAD review, weekly status meetings, ensure good engineering practices, and being the main point of contact for the Chief Engineer on the project.This will also include managing and interfacing with outside consultants for complex subsystems that we choose to outsource.This position requires someone that is accustomed to working in an often ambiguous and fast paced environment and will be able to keep the project on schedule while addressing the development challenges.
