As a Staff Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for leading mechanical design and development projects for Shield AI's autonomous UAV products. You will follow a rigorous design process, as you innovate, prototype, test, and release creative design solutions. You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and launch of new products. You will be expected to exemplify technical excellence and be accountable for your work.
Required qualifications:B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. 8-12 years of relevant experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical product development. Advanced CAD skill Working knowledge of FEA principles Familiarity with common manufacturing processes Exceptional written and verbal communication You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required as only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. Experience with aircraft fabrication, assembly, or modification Experience designing tooling and fixtures for carbon composite assembly manufacturing Experience with aircraft range/payload and endurance predictions Experience with aircraft weight and balance tracking Experience with FEM modeling of loads and structural elements Experience with CFD modeling of aircraft and subsystems Experience with production manufacturing techniques for aerospace Understanding of GD&T Effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines

The Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design is a leadership role on the Omnicell Mechanical Engineering team. This leader must have a strong and diverse background in product design that includes mechanisms, electronics packaging, materials selection, and modular design techniques.Specifically, this will include familiarity with machining, sheet metal, weldments, injection molding, with a focus in rapid prototyping.The general responsibilities include leading a design team of engineers and designers with efforts in project planning and guidance, resource allocation, requirements generation, design reviews, ongoing CAD review, weekly status meetings, ensure good engineering practices, and being the main point of contact for the Chief Engineer on the project.This will also include managing and interfacing with outside consultants for complex subsystems that we choose to outsource.This position requires someone that is accustomed to working in an often ambiguous and fast paced environment and will be able to keep the project on schedule while addressing the development challenges.
Responsibilities

Serve as corporate expert providing technical instigation, direction and advice to management for long range strategic planning Play a significant role in defining the technology strategy for the company as well as the acquisition and development of new technologies Help drive significant new products and/or product capabilities to market Guide product and technology decisions for our electromechanical and robotics based products Primary contributor on multi-disciplinary technical teams in developing and evaluating solutions to complex multi-product level problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors Act as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organizations long-term goals and objectives Demonstrates broad influence across teams and is regularly sought out to help resolve technical challenges in their area of expertise Conduct feasibility studies of new and modified complex electrical & mechanical system designs exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, evaluation criteria and technologies Lead design reviews with a focus on DFM and serviceability Lead the execution of failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA) of system level and sub-system level designs to identify high risk areas to improve designs Lead root cause analysis efforts and defining creative and effective corrective actions Willingness to travel to domestic and international off-site locations as necessary to directly support customers, evaluate field issues as well as support start up activities for new products Estimate, manage, and report time required for multiple, concurrent tasks Develop quarterly goals

Required Knowledge and Skills

Highly skilled at applying systems engineering frameworks and best practices to product development Advanced knowledge of medical related technologies, products, markets, customers and business fundamentals Proficient with designing complex electromechanical and robotics subassemblies and systems within a formal product development process using industry standard tools Strong working knowledge of DFM including familiarity with GD&T and dimensional engineering skills Able to effectively solve problems, work independently on systems, sub-assemblies and multi-task as required. Good interpersonal and communication skills Self-starter, capable of working independently as well as building strong cross functional collaborative relationships. Must be able to work in a team environment and assist cross functional teams with the debugging of complex issues. The candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred; may consider relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree 15years Electrical or Mechanical Engineering experience with a degree; 19years Electrical or Mechanical Engineering experience in lieu of a degree Experience designing complex electromechanical and robotics subassemblies and systems within a formal product development process using industry standard tools Experience with using DFSS methodologies during the design, validation and launch of products. Experience with Bill of Materials, MRP systems and the ECR, ECO processes Experience with project lead role

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Experience with Agile PLM Familiarity with Altium, Orcad, Pro/Engineer, LabView, AutoCad and Solid Works Working experience with FDA regulated, ISO13485, or other highly regulated environments Experience in a supervisory role

As a Mechanical Staff Engineer, you will be working and collaborating with other RH2 team members in the planning, designing and construction of water and wastewater facility projects. • Design and analytical work associated with all phases of engineering related to roadway, irrigation, stormwater, water, and sewer projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University
• Have obtained or can obtain an Engineer-In-Training Certification
