American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and proficiency with tele monitoring and advanced respiratory support.
Responsibilities
Position based in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) with floating to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
Works with pediatric critical care patients including those with cardiac conditions
Patient ratio is typically 1:2 or higher depending on acuity
The unit consists of 19 beds
Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs is required
Utilizes the EPIC charting system
Day shift schedule consisting of 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 to 19:30
Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) is required
Locals are accepted at the same rate
Responsibilities include caring for critically ill pediatric patients and managing advanced respiratory and cardiac devices
Floating may be assigned according to skill set and hospital needs
Team-based environment with support from experienced staff
Compliance with navy blue scrub color is required
Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs
Requirements
Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care experience required
At least 1 year of cardiac care experience within PICU strongly preferred
Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry, and advanced respiratory support is required
Prior experience using EPIC EMR is required
First-time travelers are not accepted
Former RWJBH staff (full time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before eligible for travel assignments
