The expectation is for gradually increasing levels of independence as their skills and knowledge increase. Consult Assistance Conducts trauma consults at LPH on new orthopedic patients in the emergency room and on the floor. CU Orthopedics is on call for ~30% of calendar days, at this time, including one weekend per month. Inpatient Care Provides care and performs rounding duties for admitted patients with orthopedic needs. Coordinates care with hospitalists and/or consulting physicians Coordinates care with orthopedic attendings and their clinical teams Coordinates with clinics and healthcare facilities to ensure smooth progression of care. Job Summary This position is primarily responsible for accepting and processing all triage telephone calls daily for all ENT physicians. The triage associate will be responsible for data entry into the EMR, communicating with the front desk, medical assistants and physicians regarding patients who need to be seen urgently. Coordinate patient care with other departments. Primary Responsibilities Processes all patient calls daily and schedules patients as necessary. Performs appropriate assessment and assists patient as directed by physician. Receives and processes all telephone, fax, and e-prescribe requests for prescription refills. Calls on all post-op patients as directed by physician. Communicates information necessary regarding patient care to all parties involved, i.e., Medical Assistants, Physicians, Schedulers, and others. Attends staff meetings. Complies with all regulatory requirements such as OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance and other requirements that may be mandated. Requirements Registered nurse or LPN required Experience with triage is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, word processing and EHR. Ability to provide excellent patient care and customer service. Ability to commit to established work schedule and being punctual. Strong professional, interpersonal and relationship building skills. Strong problem solving and time management skills. Strong oral and written skills. Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and dependable. Work Environment This position will be performed on site in a medical office setting.
