We are currently searching for an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to work Full-Time (4 days) in our Monday-Friday ambulatory endoscopy center. This role functions in a rotating structure, serving as Charge Nurse on assigned days and as a floor RN on remaining days. Fast-paced endoscopy center seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented nurse with strong clinical and organizational skills to support daily operations and quality initiatives.
Major responsibilities include coordinating day-of clinical flow, serving as a clinical resource for staff, supporting Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities, assisting with infection control rounding and audits, and ensuring documentation workflows are completed appropriately. The Charge RN will also assist with patient care, including preparing patients for procedures, assisting physicians during procedures, and providing care in recovery.
Employees are expected to actively participate in QAPI activities, focus studies, and other responsibilities that contribute to the effective and compliant operation of the center. This role supports leadership but does not include disciplinary authority or independent management decision-making.
Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing, strong communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with staff, physicians, and patients. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, hold a current state RN license, and maintain ACLS certification. Endoscopy or ASC experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. Responsibilities
1. Identifies, assesses and diagnoses problems through patient assessment and interactions; and evaluates actual or potential patient health problems. 2. Assesses, plans and implements interventions for solving patient care problems. 3. Formulates care plans for specific patients and documents the nursing process in patient's record. 4. Evaluates patient response to interventions and modifies plan of care as needed to achieve health care goals. 5. Develops and participates in educating patients, their families, or significant others about post discharge care programs. Initiates patient care meetings with the health care team to revise the plan of care as the patient's condition warrants. 6. Maintains a safe and therapeutic patient care environment. 7. Provides guidance and direction to members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care. 8. Keeps current on advances in nursing care by participating in educational programs. 9. Orients and educates new staff in nursing techniques and departmental procedures. 10. Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocol and providers' orders. 11. Utilizes knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precaution; and initiates appropriate interventions in crisis situations. 12. Participates in total quality management to positively affect patient and system outcomes to improve care. 13. Within six months of hire, will study for, take and successfully obtain the Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional ( CCHP ) certification offered by the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare ( NCCHC ). Supplies to study for the test will be provided and the exam cost will be reimbursed after successfully obtaining certification. Minimum Qualifications
Required Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah. Preferred Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) within one year of hire or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
