Job Summary:Shift: 1st Shift $18.00-26.00 Based on experience The Brake Press Set-up/Operator is responsible for the daily setup and operation of manual, mechanical and computer-controlled metal working equipment in a fabrication shop environment. He/she may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Setup, operate and adjust mechanical and manual sheet/plate steel forming equipment.
• Setup, program, operate and adjust CNC controlled sheet/plate steel forming equipment.
• Select the correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
• Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead.
• Able to troubleshoot metal forming problems.
• Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
• Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
• Account for time and work completed via a labor reporting system.
• Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work.
• Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
• Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance group.
• Participate in equipment maintenance at the operator level.
• Ability to work independently.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge and understanding of sheet/plate steel forming characteristics.
