Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, provides outpatient psychiatric services to adults.
+ Provides Direct Psychopharmacological Services to Fenway Clients

+ Performs psychiatric evaluations using established format; completes and submits written documentation of the psychiatric evaluations within 2 business days

Staff Psychiatrist
at our locations in
Norristown, PA and Springfield, PA.


The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for monitoring and assessing the psychiatric needs of new and current clients at both our Norristown and Springfield outpatient clinic locations. This position evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental illnesses, performs initial and ongoing psychiatric assessments and evaluations, develops individualized care plans, works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and prescribes psychopharmacological medications, as needed. The Staff Psychiatrist monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response.

  • Completed a psychiatric residency in an accredited residency program.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides urgent psychiatric evaluations, initial evaluations and delivers ongoing psychiatric services for patients as appropriate to current and new clients. This includes comprehensive history, current medications, allergies, pertinent medical and psychiatric history, psychosocial and developmental history, and an appropriate mental status examination.
  • Formulation of a diagnostic assessment, treatment plan, disposition and follow up care. This includes rendering diagnosis, ordering and interpreting diagnostic test(s) as appropriate, recommending therapeutic treatment modalities (including medications), providing appropriate patient instruction and/or referrals, monitoring symptoms, progress of treatment and treatment response as appropriate.
  • Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the health care team in order to make decisions about treatment and attain health goals
  • Responsible for diagnostic clarity, psychopharmacology, and ongoing medication management for the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
  • Consults with clinic staff, patients, and other medical professionals to interpret clinical findings and assess course of treatment.
  • Attends, receives, and provides consultation in triage and team meetings.
  • Remains current in the field of psychiatry.
  • Understands and can implement trauma-informed care practices.
  • Engages in collaborative community care, engages in outreach, and works with other agencies in support of the health needs of the clients.
  • Provides assistance when appropriate in the psychiatric hospitalization of residents.
  • Must have personal transportation and driving insurance; drives to other sites frequently in order to provide care or attend meetings or other activities.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and some billing experience is required; effectively review a range of reports and documentation and successfully develop written reports and documentation, as necessary.
