Roles and Responsibilities
Hardware
Simulate and design an overall Power Electronics system for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applications
Specify electrical components (Cables, Filters, Inductors, Capacitors, Transformers, Converters ...) of the overall electrical power plant
Write all project artifacts including Hardware and commissioning instructions
Design new Voltage Source Inverter (IGBT or Sic) and new Thyristor converter (Rectifier LCI)
Support the Drive Test and Validation
Software
Develop Offline and Real Time Electrical System Simulation for the Design of a Power Electronics system for Marine, Oil and Gas, Industry applications
Write specifications for Power Electronic Controller and commissioning test mode instructions
Develop the Drive/Converter Software and HMI, validate, and test on a test bench or on a HIL Real Time platform
Develop Technical Engineering tools for the project team
Support the project team and Drive Commissioning

Within the first 90 days:
Be fluent in SnapCount's main feature functionality

Independently create new unit and integration tests
Document updates and features for fellow developers, QA testers, and the Customer Success team
Year One and Beyond:
Begin leading conversations with team members to brainstorm innovative and optimal designs, integrate them into the codebase, and ensure we continue to drive a high-quality application.

Job responsibilities may include some activities to support eventual replacement; however, the focus of the job will be management of currently installed assets. Additional responsibilities will include providing technical advice and assistance for the site engineering director, site projects manager, and fleet engineering leadership. The successful candidate would be expected to be placed in a project manager role following completion of steam generator replacement.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate the BV2 outage contract for steam generator inspection. This will include ensuring cross-department support and oversight of vendor activities.
Intervene into vendor activities when inadequate performance is noted prior to impact on overall outage success.
Provide direct oversight of outage activities both in the field and at project office.
Validate vendor project management is meeting Vistra expectations.
Apply sound technical theory and principles to assist in optimized decision-making on technical challenges surrounding online steam generator performance. Provide management with cost effective options for resolving operation and maintenance issues.
Coordinate with industry engineering expertise, equipment specialists and site operations and maintenance site staff to ensure consistent, practical, and effective technical solutions.
Ensure alignment with program engineering staff and outage management during day-to-day decision-making.
Working with other site and fleet organizations, assist in the development of planning documents for steam generator performance recovery.
Expect less than 20 percent travel. Most travel is expected to be local to contractor facilities in western PA.
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.)
Experience in nuclear power design Engineering, Systems Engineering, operations or equivalent required. All levels of experience will be considered but a minimum of 4 years engineering experience is preferred.
Thorough understanding of outage activities.
Ability to adapt to both structured and unstructured tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills are required.
Physical ability and desire to support plant walk downs and inspections
Preferred- Active in Industry (e.g EPRI, NEI, or Owners Groups)
