Position Summary Volunteer Coordinator:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the development and administration of the hospice volunteer program. Supervises all aspects of volunteer services. *Develops and implements programs for recruitment, interviewing, training, retention, and orientation of volunteers. Required Experience for Volunteer Coordinator:
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor s Degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or related field preferred.
1-year experience working with families or groups and coordinating community volunteers preferred.
Basic office skills, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience in supervision.
Demonstrated ability to execute a supportive approach to volunteer and client/family needs.

General Working Conditions:
This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.

Local Candidate Research: Ballotpedia aims to cover every election in the country. As a Fellow, you will help build more complete local candidate profiles using the same research standards as full-time staff. Your work ensures that millions of voters have access to detailed information about the local candidates on their ballot. This includes gathering critical data points such as contact information, social media profiles, campaign websites, endorsements, and campaign themes.
Quality Assurance: Ballotpedia takes our commitment to quality and accuracy very seriously. Fellows help verify and validate candidate information entered by other volunteers. Some fellows will have the opportunity to review spreadsheets with candidate data to ensure data points are accurate and up-to-date.

The 988 Volunteer works collaboratively with Helpline staff, New Vista service programs, and with community partners to meet the needs of 988 callers. Volunteers will assess
risk by using a person-centered approach, gathering information, building rapport, asking important questions, and collaborating with callers in creating a safety plan, if warranted. It is important that we not just listen to the caller's story, but actively give them the time to talk to someone who cares, and potentially reduce the crisis they are in. The 988 Volunteer is able to think outside the box and promotes a “no wrong door” approach - that any program a client enters can provide a universal gateway to enter any New Vista Services. All volunteers must pass 3 supervised calls to determine level of competency before beginning independent 988 crisis call work
Time Requirements
Volunteering 4 or more consecutive hours with the minimum of 18 hours per month

Serves as substitute family/caregiver in the home performing activities that the volunteer has been prepared for and has agreed to perform. The volunteer may do homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as well.
Documents as educated and instructed maintaining confidentiality.
Meets all health requirements set by Luminary Hospice.
Provides availability regularly and/or keeping with the patient and family/caregiver needs.

Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.

Job Qualifications:

Surviving family members: must meet a year's waiting period after the patient's death to participate in direct patient care or public relations activities.
Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program.
Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group.
If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
