Stagedoor Manor has its roots in a camp called Beginners Showcase, which launched in 1967.
The Samuelson daughters—Cindy and Debra—had visited Loch Sheldrake often in the thirty years since their parents woke up one day in 1975 and decided to open a theater camp.
In November 2009, Stagedoor made its first of several appearances in the famed Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
In 2012, Stagedoor Manor received the Theatre Arts Education Award from the Theatre Museum, celebrating outstanding achievement in theatre. “When you consider the top training grounds for theatre, Stagedoor Manor has to be among the best, “ said Theatre Museum president Helen Marie Guditis.
