From 1854 to present It is interesting to note that the role of the county superintendent of schools was originally filled by the county assessor.

1856

In 1856 the State Legislature enacted a law that made the position an elective office.

1900

When should the United States become involved in Foreign Wars? (7th Grade) - As the United States grew and developed in the early 1900’s, it took on more and bigger responsibilities.

1996

The Stanislaus County Office of Education, through effective leadership, coordinated services, staff development, and partnerships among family, school and community, will support public education in preparing diverse students to become productive citizens and life-long learners.
