By executing maintenance procedures in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standards, you are ensuring safe and reliable flights. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item. * Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination. * Assure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner. * Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor through the Lead Mechanic. Purpose of Position The Maintenance Controller is responsible for managing mechanical irregularities and planning for the accomplishment of all unscheduled maintenance activities. The Maintenance Controller is the primary point of contact regarding aircraft out of service and the current mechanical status of all aircraft. Escalate any part procurement issues through management. * Tracking the airworthiness status of each aircraft in real time and providing this information to the System Operations Center/Dispatch. * Providing real-time controls on the airworthiness of in-service aircraft through the coordinated use of an approved deferral and tracking programs. * Coordinate with Pilots via phone and software applications to evaluate and disposition aircraft faults. Job Functions: * Discuss all pilot reports and non-routine items with respective line station/line mechanics as each aircraft terminates * Monitor all work progress at the line stations, assuring systematic troubleshooting and timely correction of discrepancies, providing technical assistance as required. * Coordinate the movement of required parts to the aircraft. * Monitor discrepancies reported on a daily basis in order to identify chronic non-routine times. * Approve and record all items that are deferred or carried over. * Ensure that all work request items and scheduled maintenance is in work, and in order to assure timely completion of each task. * Monitor all check remaining times on a continuing basis. * Make controlled work assignment in order to address items, which are pilots, reports, deferred, carried over, or which have been identified as chronic problems. * Maintain daily log of all maintenance activities, including all discrepancies by aircraft registration numbers. * Evaluate the effectiveness of the Maintenance Program in all of its applications at the practical level in order to alert the Director of Maintenance and the Director of Quality Control of presence or program defects of deficiencies. * Function as the first level of corporate maintenance management in regards to line maintenance activities. Position Requirements: * Must complete a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA background check. * Shall hold a valid Airframe and Power Plant license (FAR 121.378). * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in 121 maintenance of B767 and/or B757 preferred * Previous Maintenance Control experience preferred. * Must have knowledge of Aircraft Systems and be able to read and understand wiring diagrams, system schematics, FIM's, IPC's, AMM's, OHM's, CMM's for troubleshooting and maintenance oversight. * Must have good organizational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written skills. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Performs other related duties as assigned.) Under supervision from experienced mentors/mechanics, complete a two (2) year training program in areas of basic, intermediate, and advanced transit bus maintenance. Gain familiarity with and develop skills in the operation, maintenance, inspection and repair of vehicles and buses. Works with trained mechanics to instill confidence, integrity, and skills to maintain fleet. Performs work safely; follows safety work rules, guidelines and procedures and exercises maximum care and good judgment to prevent injury and accidents from occurring. Performs related tasks as required. Responsible for satisfactory completion of all formal training as assigned. Apprentice is expected to progress through training and complete the program to gain the knowledge to move to the next step of Journeyman Mechanic.
