Primary Responsibilities:
As a Manager of Engineering, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of the program and managing customer relationships from a technical perspective. Primary expectations of a Manager of Engineering include:
Exhibits an understanding of program scope, schedule and cost; with the ability to articulate delivery requirements to team members
Responsible for reporting upon program progress and communicating obstacles
Provides coaching and development to engineering team members, defines growth goals and development plans, and creates a culture where people can learn and evolve
Provides recommendations for pay, performance, and bonuses; escalates performance issues, supports onboarding and interviews, and supports internal mobility and key personnel processes
Plans and delivers on complex projects, such as major re-architectures involving multiple teams, without explicit guidance

Assistant Manager is responsible for evaluating Production Planning/Capacity Management and Strategic Action Plans developed by the team to countermeasure negative delivery, production, inventory management, plant/equipment, sub-supplier management, packaging control and/or workforce trends within the supply base. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are required both within and outside the Business Unit. This role will include leading and participating in a broad scope of projects and understanding/navigating complex supplier data/situations. This will require strong collaboration internally, throughout the Purchasing and Supply Chain Center.
Key Accountabilities
* Manage, Develop, and Support Department Business plan performance measurables and targets, forecast impact, monitor results & develop gap elimination plans to achieve Department goals
* Oversee training and development of direct reports including assignment / execution of training plans and future career planning
* Ensure each PIC is performing technical, in-depth analysis of the current situation, identifying gap areas, and developing path forward options to ensure key milestones are achieved
* Evaluate assessments and Strategic Action Plans (SAPs) as developed by the team, which may include analysis on a specific part or assembly process (Tooling / Equipment Spec / Part Drawing Spec or Evaluation / OEE / Volume Assessment, etc.) and countermeasure plans to correct existing problems (A-Rank, mislabel, etc.) or potential problems to avoid impacting delivery performance
* Evaluate in-depth analysis related to the supplier's production planning, results and/or current business practices and correlation to Honda systems / requirements (example CMS) and propose improvement options
* Collaborate with Departments within SCM (Including Delivery, NACO, Packaging) as well as outside the Business Unit (APD, SA) to complete cross-functional supplier situation analysis and develop path forward as PSCC
* Proactively identifies problem areas, effectively deploys resources, and implements countermeasures to correct existing and potential problems to avoid impacting delivery performance
