We are currently seeking an engineer to build and apply construction and design standards that result in the most cost effective and reliable transmission and distribution system. The individual in this position will develop and maintain construction standards and specifications for the transmission and distribution system at both AES Indiana and AES Ohio.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Create standards and identify new materials to design, construct, and maintain a quality system Develop and maintain construction specifications. Identify requirements for new standards, draft the standards and manage their development and implementation Research and prepare major material purchase specifications for equipment Research and evaluate new products Review equipment and material failures and implement necessary corrective measures Develop, publish, and distribute construction specifications to ensure all system construction will meet strength and clearance requirements and to minimize costs while meeting standards and codes Interprets and applies applicable codes and regulations Perform, document, and publish equipment ratings Assist others by developing, compiling, and providing technical data Update and manage databases as required Prepare or support incident investigations, equipment failure analyses and reliability studies
Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education
BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering Experience in electric distribution, transmission or substation engineering in a utility focused environment preferred Knowledge of and ability to apply the requirements of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and the National Electric Code (NEC).* Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel between AES Ohio and AES Indiana as needed Job location is in Dayton or Indiana with flexible work arrangements possible

**Description**
As a video standardization engineer, you will be a member of a team that represents Apple in the international standards' community, providing a clear position on our analysis of ongoing standards, refining and commenting on work in progress, proposing and driving to completion Apple initiatives, and in general steering the work to develop the field in line with Apple's vision and values. You will be a member of the team that represents Apple at calls and meetings, integrating the feedback of the Apple community on the ongoing work and representing that at the meetings.
