    The Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab) at Stanford University is hiring a full-time Finance Manager to join our team! About Us: Stanford RegLab is an impact lab that partners with government and nonprofits to use data science and AI to modernize the public sector. We are an interdisciplinary team of lawyers, data scientists, social scientists, and engineers who are passionate about building high impact demonstration projects for the future of governance. Some of our partners have included the IRS, EPA, US DOL, California, Maryland, San Francisco, and San Diego. RegLab has grown in the last few years with increasingly complex funding and budgeting needs. As the Finance Manager, you will report to the Executive Director and lead the budget and forecasting function at the lab, as well as related grant submission and reporting activities. You will serve as the key contact/subject matter expert in financial and development activities. This is a particularly good role for someone who is organized, highly detail-oriented, and excited by the mission of the lab. You will: * Perform and design adhoc analyses of large complex data sets: reconcile complex accounts. Identify and resolve complex issues which may span multiple areas. The Reglab has over 25 PTAs (financial accounts) that require active management. * Construct and assemble data for budgeting and decision making; develop conclusions, and present high level summary of recommendations. May develop annual budget for individual department/unit. Provide recommendations to the leadership team on critical operations questions. * Conduct analysis and resolution, and recognize exceptions. Participate in developing solutions that may require policy changes or the development of new processes; maintain broader organizational perspective in decision making. * Develop reports and presentations of complex financial data and metrics for management and third parties. Main point of contact for OSR and the University's post-award teams to ensure grants are being properly and fully spent. Provide support for grant submission and grant reporting process. * Participate as a member of a project team; support new initiatives. Make decisions determining approach to managing and completing processes. Lead strategy and change management activities for RegLab's finance and fundraising functions, involving Research Managers and Directors in the process. * Contribute to unit and organization strategy; assist in the development of change management plans and materials as needed. * Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for area of responsibility. * Participate in critical analysis of existing systems and processes, and identify opportunities for process improvement. Reporting to the Associate Director for Administration and Finance, this role manages all aspects of CISAC's financial operations and research administration activities. The Finance and Research Administration Manager is responsible for contributing to budget development and forecasts for the Center, ensuring compliance with university policies and external regulations, and applying financial best practices to support strategic decision-making. The position also oversees the preparation of budgets for grant proposals and manages post-award financial reporting for grants, contracts, program projects, and federal awards. CORE DUTIES: * Participate with principal investigator in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals within parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines.     Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) in the department of Neurological Surgery, the Research Financial Analyst (RFA) Lead provides functional team training and supervisory support to ensure adherence to UC and sponsor policies and processes for post-award management.     The Transplant Finance Officer is responsible for financial operations oversight of the Transplant Institute, to include insurance compliance, charges, billing, reimbursement and all applicable policies and procedures established by CMS, UNOS, other regulatory agencies, as well as organ procurement organizations. The Transplant Finance Officer maintains a dual reporting relationship to the Keck Medical Center CFO and the Transplant Institute Associate Administrator. The Transplant Finance Officer is responsible for all finance tasks and activities in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements for CMS cost reporting. The Transplant Finance Officer will work directly with the Associate Administrator of Government Reimbursement and Reporting and KMC CFO on all cost report related issues to maintain consistent process and controls. Serves as the primary liaison with the hospital system revenue cycle and finance departments and maintains relationships with those departments that facilitate accurate and complete financial systems for the business of Transplant. In conjunction with the Transplant Administrator and Finance Department leadership oversees financial matters including budget preparation, expense monitoring, productivity monitoring, payor mix, FTE tracking/utilization, revenue tracking, and billing integrity.
