Your Opportunity
You are familiar with boundary survey principles and Record Maps, Surveys and ALTAs. You are self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and/or supervise a field crew to collect data utilizing GPS/GNSS and conventional survey techniques as well as perform data reduction and drafting of the final survey product.
You will ensure the preparation of accurate, complete and value-added survey work products to consistently meet clients' project goals. As a registered professional land surveyor, you have the authority to sign and seal survey documents prepared by you or performed under your direct supervision. Upon signing and sealing, surveyors take full professional responsibility for that work. This position works on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Sign and seal survey documents.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the technical aspects of projects. May manage survey projects.
- Engages regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm performance, and identify other business opportunities.
- May serve as the leader on the team. Coordinates activities of field crews, including providing job assignments, information, direction, and daily checking of work product.
- Assists with business development, proposal preparation, project management, and final review for all surveys prepared (QA/QC).

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 76,400.00 - Max Salary $ 110,900.00

Your Opportunity
Stantec's Environmental Services practice seeks a Project Manager (Electric Transmission and Renewable Energy) to provide project management, environmental regulatory and permitting services with a focus on electric transmission clients and their projects, particularly in Minnesota, the Dakotas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, and Illinois.
Your Key Responsibilities
The main focus of this position is to manage electric transmission projects through routing, siting and permitting with support and collaboration from a robust team of subject matter experts. Project management may also involve renewable energy clients by supporting wind, solar, battery, and biogas projects. Technical expertise related to routing and siting, regulatory matters, environmental science, data management, and reporting is critical to the role to ensure high-quality deliverables to Stantec's clients.
Project Management responsibilities include:
- Marketing and business development
- Developing project proposals
- Managing projects, schedules, staffing, and their budgets
- Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff
- Representing clients at public hearings and regulatory agency meetings, and
- Performing, overseeing, and/or QC of technical work

Your Key Responsibilities
* Use technical and communication abilities to assist with completing the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting.
* Perform construction observation for project compliance with project documents and engineering principals.
* Perform construction administration duties including documenting construction activities, measuring of materials, witness materials testing, review of shop drawings, and providing general project oversight.
* Complete detailed reports as required.
* Assist with construction surveying/staking as needed.
* Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
* Office duties if available may include assisting with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Requires understanding of basic AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and general surveying.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
* Strong interest in serving municipalities with their infrastructure needs.
* Good organizational skills
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and work independently.
* Ability to work in outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.
* Must have a reliable transportation to go to and from job sites, good driving record, and valid driver's license.
* You will be reimbursed for business-related travel and expenses.
Education and Experience
In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, construction management GIS/Survey, or related field from a post-secondary institution.
Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following is desired: civil engineering planning, design, construction, infrastructure, hydrology, environmental science, surveying and construction management.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk.

Pay Range:
* Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 47,600.00 - Max Salary $ 66,700.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
