What You Will Do:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our AI and Data practice, supporting transportation and federal civilian agency initiatives. This hands-on leader will provide strategic advice, technical oversight, and direct support for data-driven projects. The role requires expertise in advanced analytics, data governance, and AI/ML, enabling clients to achieve mission outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor on data strategy, governance, and analytics modernization
Lead engagements from strategy through implementation, ensuring delivery excellence and measurable outcomes
Design and oversee AI/ML and analytics solutions using platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure/AWS/GCP
Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based tools and scripts for data analysis, automation, and reporting
Apply CRISP-DM, Agile Kanban, and human-centered design methodologies to deliver impactful solutions
Mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering innovation and continuous learning
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into actionable data solutions
Support business development through proposal writing and strategic pursuits
Drive adoption of data culture and literacy through enablement resources, training, and community of practice sessions
What You Will Need:
US Citizenship is required
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum FIVE (5) years of hands-on data science, engineering, and analytics experience
Minimum TWO (2) years delivering data-driven transformation programs
Expertise in Python for data analysis, automation, and model development, including experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and data visualization tools
Experience with R, PowerBI, MicroStrategy, and cloud analytics environments
Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, data platforms, and analytics methodologies
Experience developing and delivering self-service data products, dashboards, and AI/ML solutions
Demonstrated experience in business development lifecycle
Proven track record leading large-scale analytics and AI engagements
Ability to collaborate across technical and business audiences
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$216,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity requirements (FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST)
Cybersecurity performance measures, federal reporting requirements, Cybersecurity data sources and tools.
Quality control experience including debugging and conducting Quality Assurance of new features and enhancements
Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff
Experience developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements
Experience leading advance analytics development efforts and managing the work of more junior data scientists
High level of proficiency in Python and Tableau dashboard development
Experience building automated data pipelines in Databricks, including cleaning, aggregating, and organizing data from multiple sources
Ability to lead and design data modeling processes, algorithms and predictive models, AI use cases, and custom analysis
Experience leading data driven analytic activities involving the identification of key indicators for both compliance and effectiveness critical to mission/business success
Ability to define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information to guarantee it meets the organization's needs
Ability to support on-site and hybrid projects in the DC metro area

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement advanced statistical analyses, including time series analyses (e.g., interrupted time series), segmented regression, linear/logistic regression, hierarchical and longitudinal modeling.
Develop and validate complex models such as factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and zero-inflated negative binomial models.
Create interactive dashboards and analytic tools using R Shiny and Python.
Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for peer-reviewed publications and clearance processes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret findings and provide actionable insights.
Ensure compliance with federal public health agency standards and data governance requirements.
What You Will Need:
Master's degree is required
Minimum THREE (3) years of industry experience
Experience with R, SAS, Python (including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), and SQL for statistical programming, data manipulation, data visualization.
Demonstrated experience with time series analyses, Bayesian, and other advanced statistical modeling techniques.
Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization
Strong academic writing skills and familiarity with experiences in peer review and clearance processes.
Ability to work in a hybrid setting in Atlanta, GA
Ability to work independently and design statistical analyses based on research questions and data types
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
What Would Be Nice To Have:
PhD
Experience with hierarchical and longitudinal modeling, structural equation modeling, and zero-inflated models.
Familiarity with public health, real-world, and open-source (i.e., census) datasets and analytic methods.
Experience developing automated workflows and reproducible reports using R Markdown and version control tools (e.g., GitHub).
Experience with DataBricks and/or Snowflake for large datasets
Previous experience in consulting

The approximate pay range for this position is between $58.00 and $84.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
