The Business Development Executive- Facility Solutions (FS) is charged with developing new facilities business by prospecting and creating new strategic FS programs. These programs encompass janitorial, sanitary, cleaning, safety, and breakroom supplies. The target customer base includes large local, regional, and national businesses across commercial, healthcare, higher education, state and local government, long-term care, manufacturing, and more. Key responsibilities include driving the strategic sales process from initial engagement through implementation. The role is supported by vertical experts, sales enablement, and implementation teams. After successful implementation, account management transitions to FS colleagues and Key Account Executives where applicable. The territory the Business Development Executive will work in is the greater Seattle area, surrounding western towns, and as far south as Portland, OR. The BDE must reside in that territory in order to meet the role's in-person customer facing expectations. There is no relocation budget allocated for this position. What you'll be doing: Communicate with all external customers from prospecting through negotiations and implementation. Internal explanation of opportunity parameters and needs to leadership for approval and support teams such as pricing to achieve a winning proposal. Create customer-facing presentations in PowerPoint or other mediums Negotiate basic contract terms and navigate the legal approval routing process both internally and externally Develop and maintain a strategic account opportunity list for each of the markets in their given region. Manage sales pipeline and deal management through Salesforce.com Work with appropriate departments to respond to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), as well as other proposal requests. Work with Manufacturers to generate leads and negotiate pricing for large programmatic opportunities. What you bring to the table: Must be able to adapt go to market strategies to meet the needs of customers, industry trends and seasonality of their business. Strong time management, organizational, presentation, and collaboration skills Accepting of new technologies, sales methodologies or processes that Staples or the team decides to implement at any given time. In addition, Sr. ALPMs manage theft processes within the region including the management of external theft resource allocation (i.e. undercover) and internal theft investigative processes. Mitigating Theft & Fraud * Manage all internal and external theft processes within the region * Manage allocation of external theft resources (i.e. undercover) within assigned district(s)/zone(s)/region; coordinate with undercover administrator on schedule, effectiveness, and on-site performance. * Aggressively identify, investigate, and resolve all internal and external theft and fraud, striving to minimize the impact of loss to the company and address new types of theft and fraud. * Maximize utilization of all available merchandise protection tools and resources (including EAS, domes, alarm equipment, fitting room controls, shortage highway, etc.) to address loss in stores and throughout the company. * Ensure consistent execution of all deterrence resources/tools to proactively combat external loss. * Leverage exception and store reporting systems to identify theft activity (including cash shortage) in assigned stores and overall region. * Drive resolution and case closure on all internal and external investigations, including timely follow up on internal leads from the corporate Investigative Analyst team or the Alertline process and external intelligence from other retailers or law enforcement groups regarding current market theft trends. * Maintain appropriate confidentiality thorough internal investigations; partner with store/district leadership and Human Resources to address associate behavior and take corrective actions. * Drive an impactful and effective SPS program by participating in store efforts to hire, train, and develop SPS associates in assigned stores and overall region. * Maintain accurate records and reports of all identified theft activity and related follow up; disseminate and communicate reporting as necessary. * Drive store-level awareness of theft and fraud techniques as well as prevention tools/resources to mitigate future impact and loss. * Share expertise on physical security and loss prevention systems through new store openings, remodels, and expansions. Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment * Drive achievement of accident reduction goals for General Liability GL) and Workers Compensation (WC) for assigned stores and overall region. * Conduct regular Loss Prevention safety audits for compliance of all accident and critical incident preventative standards and programs. * Promote a safety-first culture by conducting regular store audits, supporting the proper utilization of safety incentive awards, and joining in safety celebrations for accident-free months. * Participate regularly in store and district conference calls to bring greater awareness to safety initiatives and emergency/crisis response procedures. * Execute effective crisis management and incident response; coach and train store leadership and associates on accident investigation findings, areas of opportunity, and future prevention techniques. * Provide physical security expertise and ensure proper functionality of store-based security technologies. * Regularly evaluate building integrity and partner with store management to follow up on any equipment failure. Developing Great Teams & Partnerships * Responsibility for training and developing ALPMs in assigned key markets. * Develop and coordinate training schedule for new ALPM hires within assigned district(s)/zone(s)/region.
