Star Leasing was founded in 1974 in Columbus, Ohio by Lloyd W. Sharp.
Beginning in 1987, he directed the company’s energy to expand the customer base and equipment.
1988: Formed an ESOP, which currently owns 100 percent of the common stock
1989: Acquired General Trailer Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, creating our Indianapolis branch
1994: Acquired Budget Mobil Storage in Cincinnati, Ohio, creating our Cincinnati branch
1996: Built current headquarters facility in Columbus, Ohio at 4080 Business Park Drive
2001: Built a new facility in Indianapolis, Indiana
2008: New facility opened in Charlotte, North Carolina
2009: Moved into a new six-bay facility in Cleveland, Ohio
2013: Formation of the over-the-road breakdown service call center
2018: Over-the-road breakdown service call center expansion in Atlanta, Georgia
2019: Opened the 11th and 12th Star Leasing locations in Tampa, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia
