Document patient information including but not limited to, session notes, progress notes, recommendations, and treatment plans. Assist in an audit if/when applicable. Document patient information including but not limited to, session notes, progress notes, recommendations, and treatment plans. Assist in an audit if/when applicable. Counseling Billing Protocol: If a parent requests a consult regarding the progress of a child and the consult will exceed 5 minutes, you will offer the parent one of the following options: The parent can attend the last 10 minutes of a one-hour counseling session. You can obtain an authorization for the parent to discuss the child. The parent can pay $129 out-of-pocket for each hour of consultation. Consults provided to other professionals (e.g. teacher) regarding the child are limited to 5 minutes (no appointment entered). If a consult will exceed 5 minutes, the client parent must pay $129 out-of-pocket for each hour of consultation.
