The Minnesota Star Tribune has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and organized Sponsorships & Events Intern to join our team in Minneapolis MN. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing various events within our organization. The Sponsorships & Events Intern will work closely with our Sr. Events Product Manager and other marketing team members to ensure the successful implementation of events ranging from smaller meetings to large-scale public-facing events. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Responsibilities: * Assist the Sponsorship and Events Manager in fulfillment of event sponsor elements including but not limited to signage placement, on-site sponsor coordination, etc. * Responsible for documenting sponsored elements through photo and video proof of performance (POP) and preparing sponsorship recap presentations. * Work with the Partnership and Events team to coordinate sponsor giveaways; set up, storage, distribution of materials. * Coordinate and fulfill monthly subscriber rewards contests and ticket allocation. * Assist with the preparations and execution of Minnesota Star Tribune events including but not limited to packing and organizing event materials, loading in and out of event venues, etc. * Lead the part-time activation staff by training, coordinating schedule availability, staffing event activations, communicating activation details, etc. * Staff event activations on an as-needed basis, with tasks including: * Set-up and tear-down of each event. * Effectively engage with guests at event. * Promote the Minnesota Star Tribune in a positive and energetic manner. * Know the in's & the outs of digital subscription product offerings Qualifications: * Pursuit of degree in marketing, business, advertising, or similar. * Experience planning events is preferred. * Excellent customer service skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work nights, weekends, and potentially holidays. * Ability to work well with a team and independently. * Ability to learn basic tasks quickly. * Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.).
