Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR

Formal Training: You will be required to complete a paid pre-academy orientation for approximately two (2) weeks at your home port. You will then attend a 101-day training program - CBP Field Operations Academy - conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, GA. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Operational Excellence Leader at our manufacturing site in Parsons, Kansas, plays a critical role in driving the Power Flame Inc Lean Systems throughout the organization. This leader is responsible for advancing strategy deployment, implementing lean methodologies, and aligning plant-level initiatives with corporate strategic goals. The role reports to the General Manager and the Astec corporate team to ensure cohesion in strategy and execution.
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the deployment of the Hoshin Kanri strategy framework at the plant and Power Flame business unit level to ensure alignment with corporate goals and initiatives.
Plan and facilitate cross-functional Kaizen events that drive measurable improvements across manufacturing, sales, and support functions.
Implement core Lean Systems and tools such as 5S, standard work, visual management, value stream mapping, TPM, and continuous flow to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
Champion and oversee the deployment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), including the implementation of pillars like autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, quality maintenance, and early equipment management.
Design and deliver structured Lean and TPM training programs that teach tools, principles, and cultural behaviors across all organizational levels, ensuring understanding and practical application.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across both shop floor and office operations, supporting functional leaders in achieving performance targets.
Coach and mentor employees and leaders in structured problem-solving methods such as A3 thinking to build capability and foster ownership.

Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements
Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company's Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served within 90 days of employment
Strong communication skills including the ability to train others and run regional user group meetings
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery including Microsoft Office products
Capability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete reports, and account for products
Physical ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift
Physical ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds, including the ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
Physical ability to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuel
Vision, hearing, speech, and ability to detect odors, including the ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concerns
Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
Primary residence inside operating area, as determined by the district manager
Travel is expected up to 10% with occasional overnights to training or meetings
Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
Ability to exchange accurate information verbally and in written form with the customers of MFA Oil in English
21 years of age or older
Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test
Legal authorization to work in the United States

The Summer 2026 Internship Experience is a full time position June 1, 2026 to July 31st, 2026 . All interns will be based out of our main location in Parsons, Kansas. Anticipate the possibility of employer paid travel to project sites, events, and trainings during the internship.
Position Summary: The Software Developer Intern position is responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of internally developed programs with a focus on legacy code maintenance and improvement. Development could include integration with existing systems, creation of brand new programs and systems, or a combination of both.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and maintains new internal small-scale applications.
Provides support for internally developed programs on an as needed basis
Documents program functionality and configuration
Collaborates with other developers and other departments within the organization
Communicates between different departments regarding system requirements, program specifications, and other related information.
Helps define, establish, maintain, and adjust internal software development protocols, procedures, and standards.
May perform other duties as assigned.
