1989

The bank continued to grow in 1989 with the opening of new offices in Chesterfield and Milford.

1989 First State Bank of West Fargo, with assets of $17 million, is purchased and renamed State Bank of West Fargo.

1991

'Financial opportunities are created in periods of economic downturn,' wrote Smith in his message to stockholders in GSBI's 1991 annual report.

1992

The second bank charter purchase by Vogel Bancshares, Inc., was on March 10, 1992 of the Iowa State Bank of Hull, Iowa.

1992 Main office moves to 3100 13th Avenue Southwest in Fargo, N.D. making Northport location a bank branch.

In 1992 they converted from a mutual holding company to form a fully-converted stock form of ownership and came under the ownership of First Federal Bancshares, Inc.

1994

1994 New location opens at 51 Broadway in downtown Fargo, N.D.

1996

On April 29, 1996, the bank changed its name from Sioux County State Bank to Iowa State Bank.

Approval was given and the charter was moved on June 23, 1996, while making Hull bank an office.

1997

The bank then merged with the Iowa State Bank of Orange City on December 31, 1997 to form one bank with $87,618,000 in assets and four separate locations in Alton, Craig, Ireton and Orange City.

1997: Company merges with Primary Bank of Peterborough, N.H.

1998

The Sheldon bank was opened in a 1,100 square foot building on Main Street, while a new 6,000 square foot building was built in 1998.

1999

In 1999, the bank introduced GRANITe-bank, an electronic banking service that combines the convenience of Internet banking with industry-standard security protection.

In 1999, Veribanc, a nationally-recognized rating service, gave Granite Bank a Blue Ribbon Award, its highest ranking for a financial institution and the oldest national recognition awarded to banks for financial safety and soundness.

In 1999, in response to customer requests for Internet-based banking services, the bank launched GRANITe-bank, one of the first online services offered by a New Hampshire-based bank.

2000

In April of 2000 Vogel Charities bought the De Koster Insurance Agency in Hull, Iowa from John De Koster.

2000 Southpointe location opens at 3545 25th Street South in Fargo, N.D.

2000: Company acquires two Olde Port Bank branches.

2001

On December 31, 2001, the Iowa State Bank, Orange City merged with the Iowa State Bank, Sheldon to form one bank with $196,790,000 in assets and six separate locations in Alton, Craig, Ireton, Orange City, Hull and Sheldon.

2002

On September 30, 2002 Iowa State Bank bought ISB insurance, inc from Vogel Charities to become a wholly-owned subsidiary which includes life, health, and crop insurance as well.

2002 State Bank Mortgage & Loan offices open in Alexandria and Pelican Rapids, Minn.

2003

2003 State Bank of Fargo, State Bank of West Fargo and State Bank of Moorhead merge into one corporation; State Bankshares acquires Northern Capital Trust, and our name changes to State Bank & Trust.

2004

September 20, 2004 Iowa State Bank purchased two branches of First Federal Bank of Siouxland in Sheldon and Orange City, Iowa.

Jan 20, 2004 9 State Bank of Fargo, Fargo closed Loan Production Office at 16 North Broadway, Pelican Rapids, ND. Nov 29, 2004 10 First State Bank of North Dakota, Arthur, closed facility at 305 Main Street, Dickey.

In 2004, Iowa State Bank celebrated its 125th anniversary as a bank with over $214,638,000 in assets.

2005

In January 2005, Iowa State Bank purchased the Kooima Insurance Agency from John Kooima in Hull, Iowa.

2005 State Bank & Trust opens full-service banks in Audubon and Detroit Lakes, Minn.

2006

The Bank’s Board of Director’s announced that on November 17, 2006 the Bank’s Alton office would close.

2006 State Bank & Trust opens full-service bank in Alexandria, Minn., and HealthcareBank becomes a division of State Bank & Trust.

2007

2007 State Bank & Trust opens full-service bank in Fergus Falls, Minn.

2008

2008 State Bank & Trust opens full-service bank in Wahpeton, N.D.

The idea for Texas Regional Bank emerged in 2008 when four businessmen recognized the community banking void in their local region caused by the consolidation of privately-held community and regional banks.

2009

2009 State Bank & Trust grows to $1.9 billion in assets, with trust assets under management of $2.1 billion.

But, as their planning came together in mid-2009, the strategy changed, from chartering a new bank to acquiring an existing franchise.

2010

In February 2010, the capital raise began, with a goal of $20 million.

On May 4, 2010, Texas State Bankshares, Inc. acquired 100% of the stock of Falfurrias State Bank.

December 31, 2010 Vogel Bancshares purchased their fourth Bank Charter with the purchase of the Farmers Savings Bank of Remsen.

2010 State Bank & Trust’s Fergus Falls location moves into a newly built bank.

2011

On August 1, 2011, the Bank changed its name from Farmers Savings Bank to Iowa State Bank to match its other holding company Bank from Hull.

On October 1, 2011, ISB Insurance, Inc purchased Reinking Insurance, Inc (formally the Byker-Reinking Agency) in Ireton, Iowa from Ken Reinking.

2013

Texas Regional Bank celebrated another milestone on November 18, 2013, when Border Capital Bank was acquired.

On December 31, 2013 the Iowa State Bank, Remsen merged with the Iowa State Bank, Hull to form one charter with over $493,000,000 in total assets and eight separate locations in Remsen, Hull, Sheldon, Sanborn, Orange City, Craig, Paullina and Ireton.

2014

On January 1, 2014 ISB Insurance, Inc. purchased the Ireton-Craig Insurance Agency in Ireton, Iowa from Ron Juffer.

2015

On December 31, 2015 Reinking Insurance, Inc. merged with ISB Insurance, Inc. to form one Insurance Company.

2015 Bell State Bank & Trust acquires Northland Plaza building in Bloomington, Minn., with plans to expand mortgage and banking services to serve the south Twin Cities metro.

2016

The building was remodeled and Iowa State Bank opened for business on October 17, 2016.

In 2016, Iowa State Bank purchased the former First Federal/Great Southern Bank building in Le Mars, Iowa.

2017

In February 2017, Texas Regional Bank completed the acquisition of Blanco National Bank.

2017 Bell opens loan/deposit production offices in Maple Grove and White Bear Lake, Minn.

2018

2018 Bell Bank expands mortgage operations in Wisconsin and New Mexico and announces its first full-service banking location in Arizona.
