work life balance
average pay
good people
The mandatory overtime. No work/life balance if you work in claims. Very stressful, customer focused environment. Employees are abused and not compensated enough.
Annual bonus
Total rewards
Understaffed undertrained
Annual Employee Incentive Program , it can amount to 10% of annual employee salary depending on the company growth and individual employee performance.
I begin working at State Farm in 2014. It was a great company. It appeared to be a great place to grow.
The company begin to change for the worst around 2017. They began to hire anyone and the opportunity to grow was dependent upon "who you know" versus "what you know". The pay isn't the best compared to other similar roles.
Easy to get hired.
People, family friendly, opportunities
Pension but they don’t offer that to new employees now
The flexibility and not having to feel micromanaged.
The 401k matching program, retirement plan, and being vested in the company after 5 yrs.
Helping the customers achieve their ultimate goals.
Having to Sacrifice {at the instructions of management} the quality of the work for quantity.
The ability to work overtime./bonuses/pensions.
Worked there over 25 years prior to being laid off. Liked and appreciated the constant learning and experiences.
There is nothing I did not like about working there.
Knowledge gained and benefits
Decent pay, decent PTO
Managers are either very strict or very lazy, no accountability for upper levels, managers and specialists are often straight up mean.
Insurance is good.
The wealth of insurance knowledge obtained. They train their employees to be experts in the field and be the best and most knowledgeable
Health
Helping educate customers about insurance
Pressure to sell and environment
Vacation time paid
The people and stability of the company.
No opportunity to do what I want.
Pension and benefits.
State Farm has switch to a work at home environment?
nothing everything is great
yearly bonuses
Helping people protect their assets & understand insurance products
Nothing
I love the office hours with no weekends. Specialized service and value needed products.
Opportunity to continue to help people and help them protect their dreams
The support from corporate did not exist, the back end up was no help
State Farm provided its employees no benefits or discounts
Great learning experience. Lots of room to grow.
Not fast paced.
Earning my licenses.
I love helping people and I get the opportunity to do that every day
I want to focus on financial services and I am not currently able to do so
PTO
The overall benefits are well worth the job perks.
The pay for the job classes is not enough and doesn’t even meet industry standard to keep employees on board.
Tuition Assistance
Excellent health benefits, great coworkers, competitive pay and retirement benefits.
Brutal call metrics. Job insecurity in the claims departments as State Farm closes smaller offices and consolidates to just four hub locations in Bloomington IL, Atlanta, Dallas, and Phoenix.
Family environment, small office, competitive markets
Very strict “sell our way” rules- very frugal.
Schedule was great. 9-5 with weekends off to spend with family
Flexible Work Process
Low production
Flexible Work Schedule & Work from Home opportunities
Diversity
Constantly changing procedures
Flexible schedule and health insurance
I like the level of Work life balance the company offered through life leave and paid time off policies.
Inconsistent leadership and policies
Tuition reimbursement
There was a great work-life balance. Management were very accommodating and polite.
The pay wasn’t the best and I felt that I can be better service in a different position than I was in.
Opportunity for over time pay
good work life balance. don't have to bring work home after 5pm.
Pay doesn't match volume of work. extremely difficult to make a salary to live off.
Management was very nice and helpful with my progress as an employee.
The nature of the company being a very large corporation, made for integration of new technology to be very slow and inconsistent.
Hands-on experience with current and potential clients, made for fast learning about selling and about the insurance industry.
Great benefits and resources, constantly evolving.
Heavy work volume and not enough salary
It was a good place to work, friendly superiors and co-workers. It is a good position for someone who works well in a call center environment.
PTO and sick time are grouped into one bucket.
Instant benefits, no 90 days waiting period
Flexibility and under an independent agent
Working for commission Plus salary and many many changes
Boss provides lunch and takes us on “team building” dinners, concerts, etc..
Structure and opportunity to open your own office and make a descent living.
cold calling in sales. You're at the underwriter's mercy, agents can very seldom do favors for their clients anymore.
worked for a top selling agent so commission structure was nice
I get to help people save money on their insurance, while I am making sales.
There is no room for advancement, unless you have a large amount of capitol.
My favorite benefit is the flexibility that my schedule allows, and the difference of the day to day.
The schedule is awesome, 9 to 5 pm gives a balanced work life
Lack of training, the business is goal oriented so the training is not always the best. No benefits!
Weekends off, weekends off, weekends off, weekends off.
Good pay, pension.
State Farm Park - swimming, mini golf, volleyball courts, tennis courts, etc.
The culture and opportunities and moral values.
Work/life balance can be a challenge
Benefits
Great Office. Lots of communication between Agent and Underwriters. Number one insurer in the U.S. For Auto and Home insurance. In my opinion, the best insurance company to work for.
Learning how great State Farm really helps there clients/ customers in their time of need.
