Job Summary:
This position works on a team and manages the planning and implementation of forestry projects on private, state, and federal land in the assigned District. Projects include, but are not limited to, hazardous fuel reduction, forest health improvement, and watershed restoration.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
* Identify projects and develop planning documents for forest and other natural resource management concerns.
* Interpret planning documents and implement projects on-the-ground for forest and other natural resource management concerns.
* Lead field staff and develop work plans for project oversight and monitoring; report outcomes and recommend management actions.
* Coordinate with other forestry and fire management staff to ensure all stakeholder needs are met and concurrence in documented; draft project task orders and manage contractors and internal crews in the implementation of projects.
* Provide technical assistance to landowners, internal staff, partners, and stakeholders; conduct forest resource surveys.
* Drive on State business

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
* Forest planning, site specific prescription development, and the elements of a well-written plan.
* Forest operations, including harvesting and methods used in the forest industry.

Selective Preference(s):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry or related natural resource program. 2+ years experience developing forest planning documents and managing forestry operations.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
A valid Arizona Driver's License.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental science, environmental health, sanitation, public health, engineering hydrology or a closely related field as defined by the department director at the time of recruitment AND one year of experience in the environmental or health fields.
OR:
Two years of experience with Pima County as a Laboratory Chemist, Environmental Analyst or Environmental Health Specialist I, or a combination of experience in two or more of the cited classes or other similar level position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The OPS EnvironmentalSpecialist III (37950209), is in the Division of Environmental Assessment Water Quality Monitoring Program. The position serves as data manager of physical, chemical, and biological data pertaining to surface and groundwater quality collected for the division's Statewide Status and Trend Water Quality Monitoring Networks. The division is tasked with protecting, maintaining, and improving the quality of Florida's springs, rivers, lakes, estuaries, and coastal waters. The position will assist with the division's expectations by loading environmental data into, and maintaining data within, an Oracle database.
The incumbent will be responsible for loading field generated data from ESRI Survey123 cloud services, and analytical data generated from the department's laboratory, into the database, and then merging these datasets for water quality sampling events. The merged data are then made available to the data generators for their review via an in-house computer application accessing the database. Once the data are thoroughly reviewed, and any necessary corrections are made by the incumbent, the data are deemed acceptable for public release. The reviewed data are loaded into the division's Watershed Information Network database for departmental and public use.
Candidates should have a background in database management and be capable of writing Structured Query Language (SQL) code. The candidate will need to have good verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with the data coordinator and other team members.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent in this position shall be responsible for multiple environmental health programs in Hendry and Glades Counties. This position requires vast technical knowledge within all environmental health programs. The incumbent must have the ability to exercise discretion and make independent professional judgments within all environmental health programs. Primary responsibilities include food hygiene coordinator, monitoring and conducting routine inspections of migrant labor housing facilities, biomedical waste facilities, food hygiene facilities, mobile home and recreational vehicle parks, public and private schools, public swimming pools, tattooing facilities, and tanning facilities, investigating complaints and preparing reports, legal notices and other documents. Other responsibilities include monitoring and conducting inspections of onsite sewage and treatment disposal system inspections and monitoring, permitting, coordinating and conducting water well construction inspections. Position functions independently and under the direction of the Environmental Manager. This position is headquartered at the Florida Department of Health in Hendry County, Division of Environmental Health, and reports directly to the Environmental Supervisor. Inspects all assigned permitted and exempt generators of biomedical waste in Duval County at least once annually between October 1 and September 30 (for permitted facilities) each licensing year for compliance with Florida Statute 381.0098 and Chapter 64E-16 Florida Administrative Code. Exempt facilities will be inspected at least once every 3 years. Inspections consist of a review of the generating facility's biomedical waste policy and procedures, yearly staff training, and manifest receipts from licensed transporter of waste removal as per Chapter 64E-16, F.A.C. Documents any violations observed during each inspection on the appropriate forms in the manner prescribed.
Inspects other group care and food hygiene facilities as required for compliance with Florida Statute 381.0072 and Chapter 64E-11 Florida Administrative Code and Florida Statute 381.006 and Chapter 64E-12, 64E-13, and 6A-2.0040. Inspects all assigned body piercing facilities and tattoo establishments once during the permit year for compliance with Florida Statutes 381.0075 and Chapter 64E-19 F.A.C. and Florida Statutes 381.0071-381.0091 and Chapter 64E-28 F.A.C. respectively and all other Environmental Health programs.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This intermediate environmental position will support the Resilient Florida Program and requires a broad working knowledge of environmental science and provides technical assistance to staff and grantees. Primary Responsibilities:
This is a first level intermediate environmental professional position in the Department's Onsite Sewage Program responsible for conducting mid-to-high complexity application and project reviews, site inspections, data entry and analysis, drafting reports, permits, and other correspondence, and assisting with the development and implementation of a statewide environmental regulatory program. The job requires an advanced understanding of scientific principles and skills in applying rules and instructions to accomplish a variety of job functions related to environmental protection and regulation.
Duties include but are not limited to:

* Making preliminary site visit to evaluate the property/site for an on-site sewage system installation, which includes determining soil suitability/classification, lot size, water table, percolation rate, drainage, and compliance with other criteria pursuant to Chapter 62-6, F.A.C.
* Reviewing OSTDS permit applications and site evaluation information to establish system construction criteria in compliance with appropriate Florida Statutes and Chapter 62-6 F.A.C.
* Inspecting and evaluating new on-site sewage disposal system installations to ensure adequate tank and drain field capacity, proper elevation, drain field cover, distances from wells, setbacks, and compliance with other criteria pursuant to Chapter 62-6, F.A.C.
* Enters data into the database and issues permits based on the above information within established time frames.
* Issuing permits for the construction, repair, and operation of OSTDS, consistent with the requirements of Chapter 62-6, F.A.C., and other applicable Florida Statutes and rules.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Initiates necessary enforcement action, prepare variances, and works with the Environmental Manager on projects as directed.

Job Summary:
This position works on a team and manages the planning and implementation of forestry projects on private, state, and federal land in the assigned District. Projects include, but are not limited to, hazardous fuel reduction, forest health improvement, and watershed restoration.
Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Identify projects and develop planning documents for forest and other natural resource management concerns.
* Interpret planning documents and implement projects on-the-ground for forest and other natural resource management concerns.
* Lead field staff and develop work plans for project oversight and monitoring; report outcomes and recommend management actions.
* Coordinate with other forestry and fire management staff to ensure all stakeholder needs are met and concurrence in documented; draft project task orders and manage contractors and internal crews in the implementation of projects.
* Provide technical assistance to landowners, internal staff, partners, and stakeholders; conduct forest resource surveys.
* Drive on State business
* Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
* Forest planning, site specific prescription development, and the elements of a well-written plan.
* Forest operations, including harvesting and methods used in the forest industry.
* Arizona forest and fuel types and state and federal environmental compliance laws and regulations.
Skills in:
* Computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and ArcGIS-related products.
* Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate effective communication and teamwork.
* Training others in forestry related subjects, safety practices and protocols.
* Timber marking, cruising and stand value estimation.
Ability to:
* Interact effectively with others to convey thoughts, ideas, and information.
* Track progress against goals and make adjustments in order to achieve results.
* Lead with a positive and productive attitude.
* Maintain written records, prepare documents and reports.
* Drive on State business
Selective Preference(s):
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry or related natural resource program.
* 2+ years experience developing forest planning documents and managing forestry operations.
* Experience and proficiency in using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro) for spatial analysis, mapping, and data management in forest planning.
* Ability to conduct forest resource surveys and data collection using GPS/GNSS technology.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
A valid Arizona Driver's License.

The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Participation is a mandatory condition of employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria as defined in statute.
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
The current contribution rate is 12.00%
