Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing highly skilled diagnostic, inspections, and mechanical repairs of electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems on a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment.

Job Duties:
Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines. Diagnose operational, mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical malfunctions of Equipment.
Inspect a wide variety of automotive and/or heavy construction equipment in accordance with safety/scheduled preventative maintenance checklists.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, tractors, welding machines, paint stripers, arrow boards, paint pumps and guns, rollers, trenchers, and weed sprayers.
Operate vehicles and/or equipment requiring a commercial driver's license. Road test equipment after repair and maintenance has been completed and maintain daily records.
Fabricate and modification of equipment, drive shop truck to various job sites to perform repairs.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Selective Preference(s):
Three years of journey level experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks and/or Construction Equipment. Automotive Service of Excellence (ASE) Master Certification in Medium-Heavy Duty Truck preferred but not required.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Position requires possession of a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months of employment. Must retain said license and any endorsements during the period of employment. Additional endorsements may be required during the period of employment to meet shop mission requirements.
EPA Section 609 Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within six months of employment.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. This Equipment Repair Technician position offers a great opportunity for you to combine your journey level mechanical experience and your excellent diagnostic skills in maintaining the Light/Heavy Equipment Fleet for ADOT. You'll stay challenged with a diverse set of job duties and enjoy working in a fast-paced and supportive work environment. CDL training will be provided by Equipment Services and ADOT.
Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing highly skilled diagnostic, inspections, and mechanical repairs of electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems on a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment.

Job Duties:
Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel powered internal combustion engines. Diagnose operational, mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical malfunctions of equipment.
Inspect a wide variety of automotive and/or heavy construction equipment in accordance with safety/scheduled preventative maintenance checklists.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, tractors, welding machines, paint stripers, arrow boards, paint pumps and guns, rollers, trenchers, and weed sprayers.
Operate vehicles and/or equipment requiring a commercial driver's license. Road test equipment after repair and maintenance has been completed and maintain daily records.
Fabricate and modification of equipment, drive shop truck to various job sites to perform repairs.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Selective Preference(s):
Three years of journey level experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of Light/Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks and/or Construction Equipment. Automotive Service of Excellence (ASE) Master Certification in Medium-Heavy Duty Truck preferred but not required.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
Position requires possession of a valid Class B CDL or the ability to obtain a Class B CDL within six months of employment. Must retain said license and any endorsements during the period of employment. Additional endorsements may be required during the period of employment to meet shop mission requirements.
EPA Section 609 Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within six months of employment.
