Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position serves as the lead Dentist in DOH-Okaloosa Dental Program. This position involves serving as the Florida Licensed Dentist for Dentists awarded the Florida Temporary Dental Certificates. Oversees treatment standards, quality and productivity of subordinates. Ensures standards of dentistry are met, maintained and achieved for services provided. Supports the Dental Program Manager by overseeing and guiding the professional work of the dental assistants and hygienists.
Provides dental services including examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and care of conditions within the human oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures, including emergency, surgical, preventive and restorative dental care to Medicaid Children and clients who are members of other programs in which OCHD participates. Performs diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and minor surgical procedures within the scope of the dental practice act. Develops treatment plans and maintains treatment records in accordance with the dental practice act. Coordinates and directs the clinical portion of dental services provided by the department. Monitors quality of care to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. This individual assures compliance of all dental record documentation with federal and state law and with Florida Department of Health (FDOH) Bureau of Dental Program expectations. Works independently and makes decisions based on analysis of data and knowledge of dental practice. Maintains skills and completes on-going training to maintain active license in accordance with the dental practice act.
Responsible for establishment and promotion of population-based dental preventive and educational programs and related dental public health activities. Collaborates with the Dental Clinic Manager to promote community and school-based preventive educational programs. Provides consultative and technical assistance to public and private entities regarding oral health issues.
Performs all other duties as assigned in support of the Agency's mission and vision.

Under the administrative supervision of the Deputy Regional Director for Public Health Region 9/10 and the professional guidance of the Dental Director of the Oral Health Program for the Department of State Health Services, serves as the supervisor of the Region 9/10 Oral Health program and provides preventive oral health services to eligible populations. Supervises and evaluates the dental hygienist in their performance of preventive services and oral health education. Works with other regional managers to coordinate activities that will optimize improvement of the dental public health of the region.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(65%) Preventive Dentistry: Leads Health Service Region 9/10 (HSR 9/10) oral health initiatives. In consultation with the Deputy Regional Director, plans and prioritizes delivery of dental public health preventive activities. Supervises and evaluates the Regional Dental Hygienist in their performance of preventive services, oral health education, record keeping, and required reporting. Provides technical assistance in support of integrating oral health into other departmental programs. Coordinates dental screening and sealant projects in regional schools. Maintains data sets as a result of inspecting various population groups for evidence of dental disease. Coordinates preventive dental clinics in community-based sites within the region. Assumes responsibility for the purchase of dental supplies and equipment and for the maintenance of existing clinical equipment. Provides data to the Oral Health Program regarding yearly grant updates and reporting measures. Maintains regional operations to complement ongoing grants regarding dental public health program functions. Helps other regions during periods of personnel shortages in coordinating and maintaining normal functions related to surveillance and implementation of sealant and fluoride varnish projects.
(10%) Professional Development and Community Support: Develops and maintains liaison relationships with dental professional groups and with public and private organizations at the local, county, and state levels. Works with individuals within geographic areas of responsibility who are seeking to provide and promote dental public health activities and services. This includes schools of dentistry and dental paraprofessional schools, as well as local community groups, agencies, and individuals interested in improving dental public health services in areas of need. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will supervise the daily work of the institution's dental staff and be responsible for all aspects of the clinical dental services provided to the inmate population, including periodic examinations, diagnosing oral diseases, and treating injuries. You will provide basic dental care and perform all dental treatment; assist specialists in the performance of treatment and related duties while on-site; and assure that adequate security, tool control, and Toxic and Caustic Control are carried out within the dental office. You will also consult with and refer inmate patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
* Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

THE POSITION

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive 8 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly for at least 16 months. Under the supervision of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility (CF), the Dentist (DDS), CF is responsible for the delivery of dental care, including preventive care, to patients at a State correctional facility. The DDS, CF, may delegate appropriate levels of responsibility to the Supervising Dental Assistant, CF, Dental Assistant, CF, and Dental Hygienist, CF and is responsible for the quality of their work. The DDS, CF maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Dentist 2 for the Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, Illinois to plan, develop and coordinate the dental care and treatment program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will supervise the daily work of the institution's dental staff and be responsible for all aspects of the clinical dental services provided to the inmate population, including periodic examinations, diagnosing oral diseases, and treating injuries. You will provide basic dental care and perform all dental treatment; assist specialists in the performance of treatment and related duties while on-site; and assure that adequate security, tool control, and Toxic and Caustic Control are carried out within the dental office. You will also consult with and refer inmate patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
* Work hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break
* Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
* Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Special Requirement:
* You must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Other Requirements:
* Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
* PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

* You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
