The Accounting Manager supports the Fiscal Director. The position includes administrative and professional accounting work, assisting in the operation and supervision of all fiscal and accounting functions in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. Some in-state travel may be required. The work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is exempt from the Fair Labors Standards Act (FLSA). This position offers a Limited Flexible Work Schedule and Teleworking Option.
The Job Responsibilities are:
* Managing all accounting sections to include budgeting, general ledgers, accounts payable, contract records, procurement, property records.
* Maintaining specialized accounting records to properly account for funds provided, expended and projection of year-end balance.
* Preparing and reviewing budget request for State and County fiscal years. Responsible for budgeting, expenditure tracking and analysis for management.
* Maintaining payment of invoices, contract reporting, purchasing commodities and services.
* Assisting in the preparation and review of vendor contracts, grant agreements and other contractually binding documents.
* Performing other related duties as assigned
The Minimum Requirements are:
* Possession of a CPA certificate and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or
* A master's degree and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or
* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in finance/accounting and four (4) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity,

How you will make an impact:
The primary function of an Eligibility Specialist involves determining the eligibility of applicants and recipients for government assistance programs. The work performed includes processing data from electronic sources and entering information into a computer-based eligibility system under state and federal requirements. Eligibility workers are expected to handle a high volume of work which is deadline driven. Workers must be able to prioritize, plan and project their work, while remaining flexible to frequent changes in the program policy and/or computer-based systems. The duties of a typical day are as follows:
* Interviewing applicants to obtain and verify information needed to determine eligibility for Food Assistance, Medicaid, and Cash Assistance.
* Learning numerous state and federal program regulations, through intensive training prior to full case assignment and then ongoing training thereafter. This work is driven by ongoing reliance on regulations.
* Instructing clients in completion of various forms, and reviewing the applications and forms submitted for completeness and accuracy.
* Determining program eligibility in accordance with current regulations using a computer-based eligibility system.
* Researching information provided by an applicant until satisfactory explanations regarding eligibility status is confirmed.
* Reporting cases where identity theft or fraud is suspected.
* Advising clients of deadlines, time frames, and necessary actions to be taken.
* Working with clients who may not take the necessary actions within the required time frame.
* Establishing and maintaining multiple electronic files and conducting regular reviews and updates.
* Documenting all communications and contacts with clients.
* Managing an electronic caseload that varies based on the community needs, ensuring that accuracy levels are maintained, and cases are processed within the specified time frames set by federal and state regulations.

Qualifications:

Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent provides services for the Women Infant Children (WIC) Program in accordance with DHM 150 24, and the FL WISE User's Manual. Incumbent is responsible to follow and adhere to all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Florida Department of Health (FL DOH) and the WIC and Nutrition Program. Performs entry-level and routine maintenance work. This Correctional Officer Captain position is located at SFRC. The incumbent in this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36, Florida Administrative Code.
The Officer assigned to this position has the responsibility of supervising Correctional Officers and Correctional Officer Sergeants assigned to any security post on any of the established shifts. This position serves as the initial Commander during emergency situations. Also plans, organizes and coordinates the activities of all Correctional Officers and Correctional Officer Sergeants assigned to a shift.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Delegates post assignments, specific duty assignments, coordinates leave use and ensures accurate completion of attendance and leave reports. Works with lead officers to ensure proper security coverage. Conducts periodic individual counseling with staff to outline problem areas and give additional duties or instructions.
Supervises searches for contraband and makes daily inspections of buildings and grounds. Inspects physical plant for security concerns and to maintain proper sanitation standards. Functions as facility manager during non-administrative hours.
Circulates throughout institution observing employees' performance. Conducts performance evaluations. Schedules and/or coordinates training programs for subordinates. Conducts continuous training of subordinate staff in security procedures and performance. Takes and recommends non-appealable disciplinary action and recommends appealable disciplinary action to higher level management.
Supervises and coordinates body cavity searches as authorized by the Warden. Authorizes non-emergency applications of use of force. Supervises inmates commensurate with the level of risk they present. Manages inmate housing areas, enforces rules and sanitation standards. Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter. Inventories personal property and issues receipts.
Performs crisis intervention functions to include but not limited to subduing violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, or preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. Maintains facility security. This includes performing contraband searches of either male or female inmates and other persons (both clothed and unclothed). This will include the visual inspection of body cavities and possible exposure to body fluids.
Observes inmate behavior to identify inmates exhibiting mental or emotional disorders, using counseling techniques or referral action as outlined in written policies or guidelines.
Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include but not limited to CPR, first aid, apprehension of escaping or escaped inmates, implementation of evacuation procedures, security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Case Management, Referrals, Recommendations and Assessment
Initiate contact with the youth, family, victims, and law enforcement when referrals are received by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (FDJJ). Conduct home and school visits as an integral part of the information gathering process and family involvement model.
Obtain and review collateral information such as abuse and neglect history, educational, mental health, substance use, gang related activity and other pertinent information from other agencies involved with the youth and/or family.
Conduct and document FDJJ screening(s), to identify the youth's risk and needs, protective factors and/or the need for further evaluations, including but not limited to detention screening, intake screening, Suicide Risk Screening Instrument, and any Department approved risk/needs screening and/or assessment instrument(s).
Formulate case management strategies based on assessments and/or information gathered to address the specific needs of the youth and family.
Make service referrals to the appropriate provider (s) and follow up actions needing to be taken.
Make supervision and treatment recommendations to the State Attorney and other judicial partners that allow the Department to provide the most appropriate services in the least intrusive manner.
Complete the screening instruments and reports used by the Department and/or the courts that include but are not limited to the following:
Detention Screening Risk Assessment (DRAI), Suicide Risk Screening Instrument (SRSI), Department approved risk/needs screening/assessment instrument(s) and case plan, Pre-Post Disposition Report, Adult Sentencing Summary Report, Progress (Status) Report, Electronic Commitment Packet, and Termination of Supervision.
Court Process
Acts as the DJJ representative during court hearings to support the Department's recommendation for the youth, family, and community.
Prepare and maintain current social histories, court reports, referral letters, and related correspondence.
Testify at hearings, when appropriate.
Prepare affidavits/petition for Violation of Probation for any violation that result in the filing of a delinquency petition.
Request hearings when appropriate.
Case Management, Interventions & Supervision
Complete a risk and needs assessment using the appropriate Department approved instrument(s) for all youth screened/supervised by the department.
Conduct face-to-face contacts in the home, school and varied community-based settings by interacting with the youth, family and community during non-traditional hours (weekends and evening hours) in addition to business hours.
Maintain communication based on departmental requirements for all stages of youth and family involvement; gain firsthand knowledge of where the youth resides, the family, the youth's immediate and extended environment by meeting in different locations, including the detention centers, schools, homes, out-of-home placements, place of employment, community sites, other agencies, treatment providers and offices.
Assist the youth with obtaining appropriate mental health, substance abuse evaluations based on administered assessments, and arrange for specialized testing and treatment, as needed.
Assist youth and family with school and after school enrollment; maintain school contact, verifying school attendance, academic performance, and behavior.
Provide crisis intervention; assist the youth and family in accessing crisis intervention services/resources by making necessary referrals and follow-up on actions taken.
Work with the youth to establish personal goals/ plans and provide ongoing support to help youth achieve their goals and maintain skills.
Discuss with youth and family projected timeframes for completion of goals, sanctions/conditions of supervision and anticipated date for termination of supervision based on progress and as ordered by the court.
Respond to concerns, needs, and risks as presented by youth, family, and the community by staffing cases, plans or violations with the unit supervisor in accordance with existing departmental policies, procedures, administrative rules, and FL statutes. Determine recommended handling of law violations and provide appropriate interventions when a youth violates the conditions of supervision based on the Effective Response Matrix and follow up on actions taken in response to a violation.
Conduct staffing when benchmarks occur, case milestones are achieved by the youth and or family or case is complex and in need of additional considerations (i.e. when youth is still securely detained a certain number of days pre-adjudication or post disposition, or beyond a timeframe identified in statute, when youth have completed all court ordered requirements and conditions of supervision, or violated supervision, and when transition and exit conferences are scheduled for a set number of days prior to the youth's release from residential commitment, complex cases).
Participate in transition and exit planning to finalize plans for the youth pending release from residential programs, which includes referrals for post-residential services to for mental health, substance abuse, education and workforce services.
Records Management
Enter into Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) all case management activities, including risk/needs screening, assessment and case planning activities related to the youth and family during youth's involvement in the juvenile justice continuum.
Upload required forms/ documents into the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) case file to ensure accurate and timely entries, in accordance with administrative and JJIS business rules.
Community Collaboration
Ensure familiarity with community resources and provide input to circuit management on provider community-based service delivery issues and program developments, and provide input on grant related proposals, if requested.
Attend and participate in professional development trainings and meetings.
Follow all departmental policies, procedures and administrative rules.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of case management practices; of interviewing and counseling techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in one or more of the following fields: criminal justice (e.g., law enforcement, courts, correction/rehabilitation facilities, or probation/parole), social services (e.g., child protective services, crisis intervention, foster care/group homes, adoption, or mental health/substance abuse treatment), or education.
A valid driver's license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university at the time of submission of the candidate profile OR
An associate degree from an accredited college or university at the time of submission of the candidate profile and two years' experience working directly with adolescents in one or more of the following fields: criminal justice (e.g., law enforcement, courts, correction/rehabilitation facilities, or probation/parole), social services (e.g., child protective services, crisis intervention, foster care/group homes, adoption, or mental health/substance abuse treatment), or education.
Preference will be given to candidates who are certified State of Florida Juvenile Probation Officers, have experience as volunteers or interns with the Department of Juvenile Justice or social service agency programs, or with a concentration in the disciplines of social sciences and working with people such as social work, sociology, psychology and similar disciplines.

Juvenile Probation Officers are required to maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications throughout employment.

For those candidates who are not currently in the state system as a direct care worker for DJJ at the time of application, the top-ranking candidate(s) after the interview phase will be required to take and pass Ergometric's IMPACT Assessment and Training Test in order to be considered for this direct-care employment opportunity. This test will be used to measure the candidate's overall suitability for working with Juvenile Justice involved youth. Test results will be used for a period of six months after initial testing for candidates who reapply during that period for another position for which testing is required.
985.66 Florida Statute Requirement

Not have been convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement or have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. Your Specific Responsibilities:
The incumbent provides services for the WIC Program in accordance with DHM 150 24, and the FL WISE User's Manual. This is work assisting Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors to provide services to eligible individuals with disabilities related to the coordination of customer activities or special projects and in compliance with Federal and State requirements. The person in this position is expected to perform administrative support and/or technical assistance to a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) unit and its customers.
Assists counselor with contract checklists.
Works directly with customers by obtaining and verifying referral information.
Receives, tracks, and submits monthly reports as assigned.
Facilitates orientation and assists in processing consumer applications for Vocational Rehabilitation services.
Schedules appointments and notifies customer of counselor assignment.
Conducts preliminary interviews as assigned.
Assists in identifying resources of comparable benefits in the community.
Coordinates customers' transportation.
Assists customers with purchasing of services approved on the IPE.

Position Summary
This is a professional OPS position with the responsibility of a QSI Assessor who conducts evidence-based assessments for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities using the Questionnaire for Situational Information for all APD eligible persons.
The Work You Will Do
Successfully complete assessments using the QSI, which includes reviewing information gathered from the person's records; conducting face-to-face interviews with the person with a developmental disability and the person's guardian and family; and interviews the person's caregivers, health care personnel, waiver/pre-enrollment support coordinator, or service providers as appropriate, verifying demographic information; and assessment results with the waiver/pre-enrollment support coordinator; as well as entering the results into the QSI online application.
Review the person's central record/ iConnect record including recent assessments, progress notes from medical records, school records, previous support plans, and other collateral sources, as appropriate.
Refer persons and family members to their Waiver or Pre-enrollment Support Coordinator for provider information and available resources in the community, based on needs identified during the administration of the QSI.
Schedule meetings and follow-up telephone sessions to conduct interviews with the person eligible for services from APD, family members, guardians, waiver/pre-enrollment support coordinator, and providers, and support staff if needed, to complete a comprehensive review of the person's needs for completion of the QSI. Communicate a person's needs for follow-up by the Regional Medical Case Manager or Regional Behavior Analyst following completion of the QSI.
Verify that all demographic information is correct for the person being assessed. If the information requires updating, alert the person's waiver support coordinator/pre-enrollment coordinator of the corrections required in iConnect to assure accuracy.
Attend meetings, complete training, and annually demonstrate inter-rater reliability on the QSI for recertification as an QSI Assessor.
Perform other duties as assigned, including administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
* Valid Driver's License or other efficient means of transportation to travel for work purposes.
* Must have a bachelor's degree from a college or university and a minimum of four (4) years professional experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
* Must demonstrate excellent communication skills used in conducting person-centered interviews and sufficient computer skills to access and use a web-based assessment system to obtain demographic and other details specific to locating persons and to record results of assessments.

This is an Environmental Specialist II position in the Environmental Public Health program, responsible for conducting a variety of investigations and enforcement tasks.
