Technical Maintenance & Repair
Troubleshoots, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles components of diesel, propane, and gas-powered generator units.
Conducts preventive and reliability checks, including operational testing of transfer switches and related systems.

Versar is seeking Liquid Fuels Mechanics with knowledge and experience to support Versar Global Solutions' team performance on assigned United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Recurring Maintenance and Minor Repair (RMMR) task orders. This position performs site maintenance tasks related to fuel systems, such as identifying and troubleshooting fuel systems discrepancies, minor construction activities, preventative and corrective maintenance, and repair projects. The individual will serve under the direction of the RMMR Site Manager with duties that include performing all phases of work; working with several subcontractors or support staff; ensure compliance with all applicable construction codes, standards, and local regulations; ensuring on-site quality control and on-site safety requirements are met; responsible for all onsite and contractor-controlled documentation.

What You'll Do:
Perform routine maintenance inspections at various U.S. military locations in the continental United States, through anticipation and planning of recurring maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Class I, II and III hydrant systems including other supporting equipment and appurtenances.
Maintain fuel storage tanks, including inspection reports of the operations for unusual circumstances to include pressure changes, leaks, corrosion, etc.
Support development of scopes of work for repair and modification Service Orders for Department of Defense (DoD) Fuel facilities as part of the USACE RMMR program. Repairs will be developed in accordance with UFC 3-460-01 “Design: Petroleum Facilities,” American Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 650 “Advanced Tank & Construction,” and applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
Diagnose and correct problems using test equipment, statistical, equipment history, manufactures specifications, and industry-related standards to avoid fuel spills or fuel facility related events.
Review repair specifications of equipment or components being purchased or fabricated for repair and construction projects, to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and material specifications. Procure material required by repair or maintenance work.
Maintain records relating to maintenance. Document and report all activities in a centrally managed maintenance management system.
Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and military management personnel utilizing good judgment in recognizing scope of authority. Investigate and adjust customer complaints and concerns regarding fuel systems maintenance.
Maintain knowledge of military standards, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), EM-385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual, OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards.

What You'll Bring:

Welds cracked or broken metal parts and appendages on equipment and vehicles;

You'll be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, fabricating parts, conducting routine maintenance, and keeping accurate service records.
