About the Role
As the Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for the full-cycle plan of care, assessment, and implementation of therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of impairments in multiple clinical environments, including forensic mental health and long-term acute care. You will ensure all documentation meets ESH policies and CMS.
Responsibilities
Independently review medical records and utilize standard measures to determine functional deficits and establish individualized OT plans of care.
Provide evidence-based Occupational Therapy services for Inpatients with a multitude of diagnoses.
Administer comprehensive OT treatments, including, but not limited to:
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) retraining and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
Seating and positioning, splinting, strengthening, and endurance programming.
Trauma-informed care, behavioral therapy, and coping/stress management.
Administer standardized assessments such as the Allen Cognitive Level Screen (ACLS), Kohlman Evaluation of Living Skills (KELS), and the Barthel ADL index.
Assess therapeutic equipment needs, facilitate prescription, and coordinate its acquisition.
Document evaluations and treatments accurately in patient medical records.
Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience working as an Occupational Therapist in an Adult population is required.
Education: Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by a recognized agency.
Licensure: Must meet and maintain Rhode Island Department of Health licensure requirements as a condition of employment.
Considerable knowledge of OT principles, theory, and practice framework.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge/experience working with patients who have severe and persistent mental illness as well as complex medical needs is strongly preferred.

Most of our work is conducted during normal business hours Monday through Friday, but we are a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 day a year business. Therefore, technicians do need to be available 24 hours a day when on call which is on a rotating basis; typically, one week on and three weeks off.
Experience in the industry or other trades/construction/laborer is a plus, but not a requirement. Service in the armed service is also desired, but not a requirement. We have had great success converting people from the hospitality industry, you know customer service; we can teach you how to swing a hammer.
At times our apprentices get wet and dirty, work in attics, and basements with sewage. We provide appropriate personal protection equipment, but our apprentices cannot be afraid of getting dirty. It can be hard, yet rewarding work as we help people get back in their homes and businesses.
Everyone starts as an entry level restoration apprentice but the best apprentices can rise up to senior lead technician position. Our top senior lead technician have a total compensation package over $60,000 per year.
Appearance is very important, we need to make homeowners feel comfortable. Strict uniform standards must be adhered to; PuroClean provides all uniform items and provides a stipend for new boots annually.

* Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision; OR
* Be a member of a national honor (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Please submit a college transcript(s) showing your grade point average for all four years of undergraduate study, including all transferred courses.
* NOTE: GPAs are rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honor society.
* At least one full year of graduate level education (i.e., 18 semester hours); OR

As part of the application process the applicant will be required to complete the United States Secret Service Applicant Physical Abilities Test (APAT). It is a physical fitness assessment which consists of four components (push-ups, sit-ups, Illinois Agility Run and a 1.5 Mile Run). The APAT is designed to measure the current level of general physical fitness of an applicant, which serves as an indicator of an applicant's ability to safely complete a vigorous physical training program. It evaluates the applicant's ability to perform the physical tasks required on the job by measuring muscular and dynamic strength, endurance, flexibility, aerobic capacity and other factors related to physical aptitude. General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of fingers, wrist, elbows, shoulders, hips and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.
Additional information
* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.
Applicants will be required to travel to all phases of the hiring process at their own expense. If a final job offer is extended, relocation expenses will not be authorized for first duty location.

The Women Building Rhode Island (WBRI) Trainer will design and deliver a new hands-on apprenticeship readiness training in cross team collaboration at Building Futures that will encourage women to explore careers in building and construction, build physical and technical skills, and learn about industry culture before entrance to Building Futures' pre-apprenticeship program and placement in employment as a registered apprentice in one of many trades. Additionally, the Trainer will work in collaboration with the RI Women's Council of the Building and Construction Trades Council and with Building Futures' program alumnae to build the community of Rhode Island tradeswomen, provide skills-based and leadership development workshops, and collaborate with partners to ensure women have the tools, confidence, and networks they need to thrive and advance in their careers.

Training and Education
In alignment with Building Futures' high-quality training stands and best practices, develop, implement, and provide direct hands-on and classroom instruction for a new apprenticeship readiness program for women that builds technical skills and explores careers in building and construction, including:
Design and implement accessible and engaging training activities, materials, and curricula that align with best practices in adult learning.
Maintain proper worksite safety while conducting hands-on training, modeling industry standards.
Establish and enforce policies for participants.
Coordinate training logistics, schedules, and participant communications.
Maintain participant records.
In partnership with training staff, maintain proper organization and security of equipment, tools, materials, supplies, consumables, and PPE.

Qualifications
