The position works between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and plays an important role in maintaining facilities that support daily operations and public service Human Resource Contact: Molly Skala / ******************* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. * Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, classrooms, breakrooms, hallways, gym, and offices. * Performs ground maintenance duties which include mowing and weeding grass in the summer months, along with care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and flowers, and snow removal in the winter months. * Operates and maintains equipment, including hand tools, vacuums, carpet shampooers, extractors, floor scrubbers, square scrubs, floor buffers, mowers, and weed eaters. * Inspects and documents lighting and fire extinguishers for proper operation. * Maintains storage of custodial supplies; requests replenishments as needed. * Identifies facility material deficiencies and submits work order requests to the Supervisor and Construction Facilities Management Office. Qualifications PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: Preference may be given to those with a High School Diploma Plus 6 months of progressive work experience, typically in Building and Grounds. Agency requires the successful applicant to have a valid Driver's License Agency requires the successful applicant to obtain/maintain Federal Security Clearance. KNOWLEDGE: * Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance. * Computer Skills such as e-mail, MS Word, and basic computer skills. * OSHA and EPA regulations. * Safety skills and background. * Bloodborne Pathogen. This position will work the Phoenix Friday schedule. This will be explained during the interview process. * This position is considered essential personnel. This employee will be subject to call-in and call-back and will be required to respond during inclement weather for snow removal. * Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, bio-hazards, and potential explosives. * Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs. * Must be able to operate cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment * Employee may be subject to after-hours call back or reporting to work outside of their normally scheduled hours NOTES: * FLSA: Non-Exempt * This is a permanent Part-Time position working 80 hours per month. Write work requests or otherwise report on things that need to be repaired. Update MSDS manual as needed. Handle and use hand tools and equipment. Clean and sanitize kitchen and wet bar facilities. Drop off tablecloths to be laundered; pick up and return to inventory. Gather rental items left at the facility and schedule the pick-up of items. Report concerns with rentals including, but not limited to, damages to equipment and/or building, missing items, extra cleaning time, etc. Provide input on changes to rental acknowledgement sheet, rental checklist and key checklist.
