Preferred candidates will demonstrate a capacity to integrate cutting-edge computational approaches with biomedical science to address urgent challenges in pathogen biology, antimicrobial resistance, outbreak dynamics, and the development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics. The candidate will join an expanding group of computational researchers as part of UAlbany's new AI Initiative. The College of Integrated Health Sciences is a joint venture between the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the University at Albany. The department's partnership with investigators at the Wadsworth Center, the public health laboratory of the NYSDOH, provides an extraordinary opportunity for collaborative research on the frontlines of human health. Faculty benefit from access to world-class resources, including advanced genomics, imaging and structural biology facilities, and state-of-the-art laboratories. Faculty additionally have access to high-performance computing, including a new AI supercomputer powered by 24 NVIDIA DGX systems.     The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity (CEHC) at the University at Albany (UAlbany) is seeking applicants for a tenured Associate or Full professor who will also serve as the Director of its Interdisciplinary PhD in Information Science Program. The Director of the Program provides academic, administrative, and strategic leadership to support the development and delivery of a high-quality, interdisciplinary doctoral program. They ensure that the Program aligns with the mission, vision, and strategic goals of CEHC and the University at Albany. The Director is further responsible for promoting academic excellence, fostering a strong research culture, ensuring student success, and managing program operations. The successful candidate is an integral part of the Department's instructional team. Associate or Full Professors deliver undergraduate and graduate-level instruction, conduct research, and partake in advisement responsibilities. Each semester, the tenure-track and tenured faculty generally teach two courses. While we welcome candidates from a range of specializations and methodologies, we especially encourage candidates whose scholarly work critically engages with diverse ways of understanding issues in technology and society. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings Major Responsibilities * Clinical supervision of graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in on- and off-campus clinical practicum. Clinical experiences include screenings, diagnostics, and therapy. * Demonstrate a broad range of clinical experiences across the lifespan. * Assessment and intervention experiences should include but are not limited to the following: AAC, autism, voice, fluency, aphasia, adult communication disorders, early childhood and school-age speech and language disorders. * Demonstrate strong clinical writing skills. * Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and professional skills with students, clients, families, colleagues, and other professionals. * Demonstrate commitment to promoting a diverse academic environment consistent with university mission, vision, values and campus priorities. * Teach academic coursework in the Department in summer session and as needed.
