Job Description
The Executive Specialist will handle a regular diary of primary and excess Third-Party Privacy, Cyber, Media, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, and Technology E&O claims. These claims involve a high degree of technical evaluation and often include complex issues. Experience in Professional Liability (E&O) claims is required. The Executive Specialist will be expected to analyze and resolve such claims, including determining coverage, assessing potential exposure in a timely and accurate manner, and steering the litigation and/or negotiations through resolution.
This position will add to a growing department, and will report to an Executive Risk Claims Manager. This position has a flexible workplace location for the right candidate, including with the ability to work remotely (other than occasional travel) or with a hybrid in-office/remote presence in the Jersey City, NJ, Morristown, NJ, Chicago, IL or other C&F office nationwide.
What you will do:
Accountable for the full handling and control of all claim matters assigned from inception through resolution, including: timely coverage analysis and letter writing; investigation; evaluation; reserve adequacy and timeliness; diary maintenance; management of defense and coverage counsel; reinsurance reporting; and claim disposition. The adjustment of these claims may require occasional in-person attendance at mediations, settlement conferences and trials..
Consistent prompt evaluation of potential exposure present as to all claims assigned as well as an ability to adapt to changing circumstances as claims develop. An ability to segregate potentially significant claims possessing considerable exposure from straightforward claims. Ability to consider and formulate a possible resolution strategy at the earliest possible opportunity, including setting appropriate and timely reserves and communicating with defense counsel, insureds or others to successfully achieve such strategy.
Claim presentations, both written and oral, will be required on a regular basis to bring management up to speed, obtain authority and/or formulate appropriate action plans on difficult claims.
Superior customer service to policyholders, agents, and others encountered during the claims handling process is expected.
Where needed, the Executive Specialist may market claim services and coordinate and participate in presentations to customers or potential customers, including in support of C&F's underwriters.

What you will do:

Senior Product Specialist
As part of the Legal/Product Management team, you will collaborate with all stakeholders by engaging perspectives, influences, and partnerships within the team, the division, the company, and with our policyholders and business partners. You will:
* Act as member of the product development "service window" team to assist applicable business segments in developing new and revised products in a timely fashion for the Construction and Commercial Auto industries;
* Conduct customer engagements that will ensure new product solutions are solving market challenges; and
* Facilitate legal, underwriting and claims review of product changes and enhancements.

Admitted & Non-admitted Business
* Develop and maintain companies' coverage forms, endorsements, and rules for proprietary and bureau-based commercial insurance products.
* Manage complex product development projects for all lines of business and products (admitted and non-admitted) and collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Legal, Actuarial, and Regulatory members to produce final, high quality insurance products.
* Draft manuscript endorsements, as requested by underwriting segments that provide needed coverage changes while maintaining the integrity of the policy structure.
* Keep abreast of bureau circulars for all applicable lines of business.
* Collaborate with the Regulatory Compliance team to assess and implement revisions to proprietary products or exceptions to bureaus' products in response to regulatory changes or requirements. Provide guidance to field staff regarding products and new or revised regulatory requirements.

What you will bring to C&F:
* Bachelor's Degree.
* CPCU designation or other related course work, or actively pursuing such is preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of primary and surplus lines insurance products.
* Minimum of 3+ years' insurance product development or underwriting experience in the Construction and Commercial Auto industries, including demonstrated expertise in the review and drafting of insurance policy forms.
* Excellent development and analysis of policy forms is required.
* Proven research and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of ISO and AAIS products is a must.
* Knowledge of ISO form structure and grammar rules is highly preferred.

Assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements, footnote disclosure, exhibits and schedules for NAIC and state filing

The Cyber Internship Program is designed to provide aspiring cybersecurity professionals with practical experience, mentorship, and industry knowledge.
