Steady employment with a culture of inclusion. Hourly employees are treated without respect, management is fair company provides an honest wage for an honest day’s work.
Environment can be challenging due to type of work performed.
I worked there 1988-1992. There was a small loan, interest free, program for emergencies. After working for three major employers(Fortune 500) post Steel Warehouse and being responsible for 22,000+ employees, I never encountered a similar program.
Dave Lerman was fair but firm and 100% honest. I was the, “Chief Steward” during my final 2 years and dealt with Gerald Lerman at the final stage of the grievance procedure. He was also a fair, but tough, minded individual.
I have been gone too long to have any current insights for improvement.
Being open and honest. I had 10 years of previous manufacturing experience and stressed how I could provide assistance if given an opportunity.
At the time it was competitive.
I believed each group was properly represented by percentage.
I enjoyed my time there. I worked on a project to improve efficiency of the wood shop/skid production. Before my departure in 1992 to attend law school I was offered a chance to work there again. It meant a lot to me.
