Join Our Imaging Team at SDMI! We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. This position plays a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services and delivering exceptional patient care under the direction of the Radiologist, Technical Director, and Lead/Chief Technologist.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations in accordance with ACR protocols
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality throughout the imaging process
Communicate effectively with radiologists and fellow staff to coordinate patient care
Maintain and update departmental protocols and quality assurance records
Support ultrasound student training and clinical experience
Accurately complete and manage patient paperwork and documentation
Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel
Stay current on safety procedures, evacuation guidelines, and infection control practices
Participate in cross-training and ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent relevant job experience
ARDMS certification required; additional specialties (AB, OB/GYN, PS, RVT) preferred
Must meet ACR certification standards
Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, scanning techniques, and terminology
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to adapt to changes in workload and priorities
Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance
Must demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude

Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of an approved program in Ultrasound Technology or licensed RT(R) who has received on the job training and must be ARDMS registered.
Knowledge in Abdomen, Small parts, Breast and OB (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester)/GYN, and Vascular imaging.
A valid ‘Hands-On' CPR certification.
Physical Demands
This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking.

Responsibilities
Advanced Imaging I use equipment to visualize internal structures, blood flow and obtain measurements. American College of Radiology (ACR) and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) are the 2 guiding bodies used in Imaging. In the Radiology settings, ACR is followed. In the Cardio-vascular Ultrasound setting, IAC is followed. Cardio-Vascular Sonographer practice following Protocols and Techniques as per scribed by the Cardio-Vascular Medical Director. Advanced Imaging I, practice following the protocols and techniques as per scribed by Imaging Medical Director. All Advanced Imaging I, will practice their skills within the scope of their credentials and with a valid written physician s order always. Skill evaluations will be done by the area supervisor or preceptor assigned. Advanced Imaging I will perform, under the supervision of a physician and complete exams per protocol using diagnostic criteria; completes required information on PACS. Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Imaging Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department including document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships and information gathering and dispersion. Meets all requirements set forth by accreditation (ICAEL, ICAVL and ACR) as appropriate and governing bodies, including JCAHO, federal and state bodies, and department-specific requirements. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Proof of completion of an AAS or equivalent program required.
Graduation from an accredited program with clinical experience required.
Registered and/or certified by ARDMS, ARRT, CCI, ARMRIT, CNMT, MQSA credential required.
License required if required by state.
Current and valid BLS (AHA) certification required.
Previous experience in performing imaging on patients of all ages, especially hospital-based experience preferred.
