Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply of materials and components critical to the company's success in the aerospace and defense (A&D) and commercial electronics markets. This role partners with suppliers and cross-functional teams to secure competitive advantages, manage supply risk, and support long-term business objectives. The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening supplier relationships, driving innovation, and enabling operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity, quality, and cost competitiveness. Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers capable of meeting A&D and high-reliability electronics requirements. Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements to optimize value and mitigate risk. Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and long-term programs. Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to meet delivery, quality, and compliance expectations. Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions and support make-versus-buy analyses. Develop key supplier partnerships to drive innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to regulatory and customer requirements, including ITAR, DFARS, AS9100, and other aerospace/defense standards. Provide reporting and analysis on sourcing activities to support executive decision-making. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred). 7+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics. Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, contract negotiation, and supplier management. Proven experience in managing complex supply chains with global suppliers. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain digital tools. Skills & Competencies Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to execute sourcing strategies that align with business objectives. Effective communicator and influencer, able to build relationships and drive outcomes across functions and suppliers. Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and a learner mindset in a dynamic market environment. Collaborative team player with leadership presence and credibility at all levels of the organization.
