Performs correct sterilization method for all products during each cycle. Provides correct control testing during each designated event. Process all priority items as written in the policy guidelines. Prepares all items by designated priority departments and products lists. Communicates in a positive and effective method both inter/intra departmental. Responds to various equipment alarms, telephone, or walk-in customers in an appropriate manner. Delivers all requested orders in a timely manner, or immediately in the case of a STAT request. Accepts training and development in surgical instrumentation pertinent to Valley Medical Center. Accepts rotating assignments in Central Processing, i.e. prep and pack area, instrument room, decontamination room, and rounding. Works with high-level disinfectants and cleaning solutions. Some work in areas where ETO sterilant is being used. Job Qualifications: PREREQUISITES: * Knowledge of sterilizer operations. * Knowledge of quality control testing. * Current certification through IAHCSMM or ASHCSP or obtained within 18 months of hire unless hired before 2000. * Past history of good attendance to VMC standards. * Past history of satisfactory job performance that meets VMC standards.
