The Lead Central Service Technician oversees the daily operations of the Central Service department, ensuring the proper sterilization, assembly, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. This role provides guidance and mentorship to staff, enforces compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements, and supports quality management initiatives. The Lead Technician coordinates workflow, troubleshoots operational challenges, and collaborates with clinical and departmental teams to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of sterile supplies throughout the facility.
Qualifications
+ Supervisory experience in Materials Management or related department.
+ Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
+ Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
+ Proficient with computer systems, software, and Materials Management information systems.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently with minimal direction.
+ Knowledge of healthcare infection control regulations and adherence to safety standards.
+ Provides guidance, training, and technical support to staff; oversees orientation and competency development.
+ Participates in Quality Management and departmental improvement programs.
+ Maintains safe, clean work environments and reports/resolves unsafe conditions.
+ Builds positive relationships with staff, management, patients, and visitors while maintaining confidentiality.
+ Adapts to changing workloads, works efficiently, and demonstrates a positive, team-oriented attitude.
